Scott Harrison v Nedal Hussein???

Post by jomothepure »

Havn't been able to find out about this anywhere else, but boxrec have this fight in now for the Oct 1st bill.

Obviously it wouldn't be Guzman, as the turnaround would be too quick after turdsack.

http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=019098

Looks a pretty decent opponent to me. Ashamed to say I havn't seen Hussein, but his two losses are against very good boxers in Larios and pac, and he seems to have a bit of a punch on him.

Khan, Rhodes, Burns, Limmond all on undercard.

Young-McNeil may also go again as well. I'm not sure about this one. Despite his relative lack of experience, McNeil is on a bit of a roll now, with Jones fight under him (and a British elim of some sort) whilst Young is a bit stop-start and ring rusty at the moment. I'd actually favour McNeil if this happened)

It was announced a couple of weeks back, yes Young/McNeill is on the undercard.

   Oh rite then. On the ball there.

I was just about to break another exclusive that Graham Earl has an interesting fight pencilled in with Yuri Romanov, who stopped Bobby Vancie. Which is more than Earl did. I don't think I'll bother now.

Yes Earl fights Romanov is it Oct 11th?

Rob Jeffries and possible the returning Leo O'Reilly if he gets his licence on the undercard at least

I'd prefer to see Harrison in with a featherweight, but its still a decent enough match.

Earl is going to get a right hammering. Crazy matchmaking I think, I really dont see any way he can win.

I missed this one aswell.

Its a decentish opponent but he was awful vs Larios and is smaller than Harrison, although is a tall Super Bantam (hence his nickname). I think Harrison will win, Hussein will have to be alot better than he was vs Larios to stand a chance.

I did know about Earl vs Ramanov. Ramanov has been inactive and I do suspect his previous trips to Britain flattered him (he wasn't impressive vs Conway or I believe in his last fight). I do tip Ramanov but will not be surprised if Earl wins, after all Maloney knows Ramanov well.

I have never really rated Earl at all and from what i have seen of Romanov i would expect him to beat Earl. Hussein is an interesting choice of opponent, he is not afraid to get into a fight and has a decent record, he is though smaller than Harrison.

Maybe someone like Ben Keilty will come along and give us a bit of insight into Hussein.

Yeah, maybe the Vanzie fight was a bit of a highpoint for Yuri. Thing is, Earl really does look like a defeat waiting to happen these days. I think it's a decent scrap, certainly wouldn't mind seeing it on TV.

I see a prolongued beating for Earl, what exactly does he have to trouble Romanov? Could be the end of the road if he takes a hammering.

Cool. I certainly tip Romanov, but I think it'll be entertaining.

I was reading a few olds posts of an Aussie poster whom I respect on another board about Larios vs Hussien. We were all shocked at Hussein's performance, but he was particularly shocked - apparently he gave a damn good account of himself vs Pacquiao and he just seemed to freeze or something vs Larios.

I was impressed with Larios that night though.

Skinny virtually stopped Pacman - a shot (or bent?) Padilla gave him 20 seconds to recover. This is a decent match.

Hussien has big power and was right in the fight with Pacquio even knocking him down in the early rounds, he was badly cut in the middle rounds and took a few rounds of punishment before the fight was stopped.

He didn't look good at all against Larios i don't know if he was injured or sick but he looked flat and didn't throw more than 10 punches a round.

He has good defence and great body punches as well as a big right hand. I'm not convinced he has the heart when he is in a big fight but apart from that he has all the skills to take him to the top if he can get it together.

i think getting down to 122 was to much for skinny.126 might even be a push as he just won at lightweight.if he is stronger it will be a cracker as this boy can dig to the body and scott always seems tight at the weight.

Good fight, Hussein is a quality operator - wonder where this comes from, I haven't heard anything but TBA.

Dangerous fight for Scot if it happens. Hussein is tough and packs a punch too.

Totally agree, This fella needs to be better than in his Larios match or looks like he'll get another 12 round whipping, he never got out of 1st gear against Larios.

Hussein is a quality fighter although untested at feather....
His fight with Pac Man stank..... 20 second recovery is now exaggeration......
Appalling refereeing....

Romanov had a operation on his throat i think last year not sure how that has affected him...

Hussien knocked down Pacman and Pac was given about a 15 sec 10 count before the fight resumed. In the middle rounds there was a head clash(from what i remember) and Hussien had to fight with one eye closed for about 3 rounds before the ref stopped the fight. The fight was very even until the head clash and one of the dirtiest fights i had seen for a while.

If Hussien comes to fight this will be a great fight and should have plenty of fireworks.

Hussein has got all the fundamentals, and always seems cool. He could really trouble Harrison for a while if not hurt him.

There must be something wrong with Romanov at the moment, why on earth would Team Earl make that fight otherwise? Dangerous but unknown, hardly what you'd go looking for is it.

here is the Pacman v Skinny video...

http://www.worldofboxing.com.au/video/MOV00016.MPG

check it out, Pacman hits the deck on 3 seconds, gets up at 13/14 seconds, fight gets waved on at 24 seconds...

so he was down for 10 seconds then had a further 10 seconds recovery!!!!!!

As for Romanov, recent results dont look too great...... should have stopped Starkov and Conway in my opinion.... Like i say i heard he had some operation, not sure exactly what it was though
