I will keep this off the Beyer thread, but one of the poster made the point that Pemberton beat Sheika twice and hasn't lost since and has only managed to get an "eliminator" vs the dangerous Green, whereas Sheika has secured two shots.

Worst still now for Pemberton, should he beat Green he will not get a direct shot at the Sheika/Beyer winner. He now will get to face the winner of another just announced intriguing contest. Christian Sarnavia vs Otis Grant. This match is scheduled for October the 29th (six days after the Pemberton vs Green bout) in Canada.

Interesting match this, it will answer more questions on "Magic".

Yeah he's had a bit of a rough ride. And he was going to be a Calzaghe opponent for a while I'm sure SN fucked him around no end.

Now Pemberton has to fight the winner of Grant-Sanavia? Why doesn't Pemberton get a straight shot? I feel sorry for the guy, this is bullshit.

because sheika is a voluntary defense, isn't he?

If he isn't, and he is above Pemberton in the WBC ratings, then pemberton seriously needs to sue because he'd get a hell of a lot more money doing that than working his arse off for eliminator bullshit.

Former WBC super middleweight interim champion Danny Green (20-2) has been forced to postpone his bout with WBC super middleweight contender Scott Pemberton (29-3-1) which was scheduled for October 23rd in Perth, WA, Australia. Green has suffered two broken bones in his back, which will require at least one month off training. He suffered the injury in sparring in Los Angeles three weeks ago, but only received results of a scan yesterday. Green has been in the USA sparring with top IBF light heavyweight contender Julio Gonzalez. The two time former WBC world title challenger says he isn't sure what the delay will mean to his world title aspirations, but believes it could bring his much anticipated fight with countryman Anthony Mundine closer. Danny Green scored a fifth round knockout over James Crawford in July in his most ring outing.

Sheika is a voluntary defense.

WHy are you all against an eliminator tournament, isnt it what boxing needs? It should determine a worthy mandatory challenger.

Pemberton vs Green though isn't a final eliminator - it is now a semi-final with Grant vs Sarnavia. But yes, Pemberton should just take Green's place.
