Ii would prefer Dave Coldwell to get a tv deal on 5 rather then Spencer because he is building up a good little stable at the moment and is willing to take risks ie bidding for Bellew-McKintosh.The one Hard Knocks show i saw on Premier before i ditched it had Spencer droning on like an evangelical preacher about 50-50 fights only to see Choi knock out some no hoper in a couple of rounds.However i wouldn`t mind spencer getting a chance at some stage,i just feel if it become a choice between the two promoters would prefer it to be Dave Coldwell.

Without question DC has got the strongest stable outside the top four, he deserves TV IMO

Got to disagree for once. They keep telling us about the 50-50 fights, the atmosphere and their revolutionary approach, but the shows themselves are standard fare topped by Choi knocking over some foreign novice. Would Choi-Puksins/Rozeaux have excited 5 had they took the plunge a while ago? Spencer’s a salesman, like all salesmen the element of repetition plays a big role in his patter and can obscure cards that lack meat in the main event. Why single Spencer out for a TV deal, is it because he makes more noise? Another problem is that Spencer came out blazing with the ‘We only do 50-50’ spiel, the natural and unspoken addendum to that is ‘…and the other guys don’t do this’ so when he loses, say, a decent opponent for Choi how many people are going to want to provide their top guys given that Spencer’s shouted long and hard that HK4L specialise in 50-50s? Not many will want to help him out.

The shows are not bad, far from it, but nor are they anywhere near as strong as Spencer makes out. They are certainly not Channel 5 worthy at this point.

spot on , i had heard and read about it ,then i seen one on premier sports and to be honest it was just standard class ,not many 50/50 .Think the likes of Helliot Coldwell and maybe VIP would be great if they were given the oppwerunity.

Surely a vacant WBC International Silver title is worthy of any channels Saturday night output. I only hope Choi can unify Silver and standard International titles.

If C5 decides not to give Dave a chance,then hopefully Sky will in a couple of months when the contracts are up.

I want to believe this as much as everyone else but will wait till someone goes on the record till I get excited.

Does anyone believe this is true? Every other article I've read on the subject over the last few years has told me about how the audience for boxing is getting older. When I watch Friday Night Fights on ESPN, I'm bombarded with sponsorship from Just For Men. It may be cheaper, but does anyone believe that a TV exec really thinks that boxing is a better to reach young male viewers than showing Liverpool games?

The thing is i dont know that many people who actually watch football on C5 i never do, i could be wrong but im not sure their football viewing figures are very good. Where as if they have boxing they are the only channel who will have and therefore have the free to air share of the market.

Isnt degale looking for a new contract it would be great if he got picked up on free to air he's a character and has a flash style good for ratings.
