I don't get this at all. Anderson was beat fair and square and was given the rematch until a better option came up. Anderson would've been a huge underdog at about 6/1. If groves is to win the title then there's no way in hell he should be defending against that level.of opponent. It is a mismatch and taking domestic options away from that level of fighter

If he wins title he should make first defence against Anderson

EDIT Just looked on Andersons record&apart from Groves hes only boxed 4 fighters with a winning record

And only one of his victims (Mendy) still has a winning record. Anderson is massively overrated and is less qualified as a world title challenger than Tommy Karpency.

I like George and i think he can
win his up coming world title challenge.
That said i think the fight is winnable more so
because of flaws in his opponent though Groves
will need to dominate .
Nice as it will be to have another British
world champ it will always be said he ducked
out of the fight he needed to have but never really
fancied.
Kenny Anderson would have as much chance of winning
that world title as groves IMO and the fact he has been denied
his chance to avenge his loss will undermine groves standing with
genuine fans regardless of his achivements .

Why is this your opinion?

Are you impressed by Anderson's lack of meaningful wins and tough opponents, or is it his stoppage loss to Groves? Both?

I believe had anderson been fit he would have had more in the tank to sustain him when groves turned on the pressure as it was after he had seriously wobbled george he was gassed and stopped .A second fight would have proven either way .

You've got to remember that Groves trained all camp to fight somebody else before the first fight. Anderson therefore caught Groves unawares. That wouldn't have happened a second time.

We should see if Anderson can beat DeGale if he can then he deserves the shot, other than that its a backward step for Groves IMO
