too true mate. If we could have who we want I would have say Colin Lynes for the british welterweight title or Brian Rose for the British Light Middleweight title, because they hold the british title, but in reality there is a lot of fighters trying to get the same opportunities, had dream last night that we spoke to Brian Rose about fighting him for his british title, then I was approached by his management team to make the fight because other fighters wanted to much money to fight him, talk about eating, breathing and sleeping boxing lol.mcato wrote:I understand it's hard to get fights without a big promoter so Nasser has to take it when he can. It was a joke mate ! Yes I am married and yes I do put God and then my family before boxing, but this is a boxing forum, so I talk boxing on it.

Should be a good guage of where Al Harbi is actually at. If he's anywhere near decent he should beat Mutley in his current state relatively easily.

most people love boxing and come on here to debate, some come on to try and take the piss and think they are smart, though at times they can be entertaining, in reality it disguises something really sad about the individuals.mcato wrote:Safeerah your passion has taken this thread to the second page. Safeerah there is nothing wrong with a bit of fun or banter, life is too short. I respect you as a boxing fan but there is nothing wrong with a bit of banter. I have a good relationship with Erick Ochieng and i have seen people give him some proper stick on some forums. We are not giving Nasser stick we are saying he is too good for Mutley and not much of a test and he need to fight fighters to get him in the top 10safeerah wrote:most people love boxing and come on here to debate, some come on to try and take the piss and think they are smart, though at times they can be entertaining, in reality it disguises something really sad about the individuals.mcato wrote:Safeerah your passion has taken this thread to the second page. Re: Nasser Al Harbi V Young Mutley 11th May 2012
Actually Erick Ochieng is one of my favourite prospects, I love his relaxed style, his head movement, workrate, his defence ect.. very similair to Nasser IMO, a fight between them would be a really good fight, we would like to make the fight because he has the English Title, but promoters make fights let's be honest, when there was nothing happening with an Ochieng fight we had to look elsewhere, that's where Mutley came in, the possibility of having a former British Champion and European title challenger on your CV was too good to turn down plus they are both local fighters which makes it a good sell and in the USA where Nasser has been noticed a win against Mutley would carry more weight then Ochieng, though Ochieng has the better skills. Beating Mutley could get us a major title shot, thats how boxing works sometimes, I bet Hearn will get Ochieng an easy defence next or try and get him a shot at the British Title.safeerah wrote:mcato wrote:Safeerah there is nothing wrong with a bit of fun or banter, life is too short. I've been present at most of both fighters Bouts and I see it as a very real 50/50 fight. I'm really looking forward to this and I see it only going 2 ways. Nas on points or Lee by stoppage. There are loads of factors to add in (can Nas step up, can lee turn back the clock etc) but if you take both boxers being 100% of what they can be today, it makes for an intriguing match.mcato wrote:We are not giving Nasser stick we are saying he is too good for Mutley and not much of a test and he need to fight fighters to get him in the top 10

Agree totally with the last post, people are writing Mutley's chances off too easuily here imo.
Also Safeerah can you tell us more about some of the issues between the camps?
I know Nasser was with Errol/PJ for a short while, is it to do with that?

Re: Nasser Al Harbi V Young Mutley 11th May 2012
We want someone to push Nasser to a higher level, because we know what he can do in the gym and in sparring, that's why he was so highly rated early in his career at 18 and 19 years old, but he has been unlucky with injuries and still won fights, maybe someone like Mutley can bring the best out of him, then everyone will see for themselves. We parted company with PJ Rowsen because of a purse dispute and then were frozen out in Birmingham until Dave Coldwell gave Nasser the opportunity to fight back in our home city, we have been delighted since with the great support from the fans. To be honest I think having to fight in different cities and abroad, sometimes against heavier fighters has made Nasser a stronger fighter both mentally and physically.saturday_kid wrote:Agree totally with the last post, people are writing Mutley's chances off too easuily here imo.

Jamie balls camp apparantely were shocked at the power and strength of Nasser in thier fight, where Nasser took the centre and forced Ball back for most of the fight and indeed hurt Ball several times.

Re: Nasser Al Harbi V Young Mutley 11th May 2012
I think it is you who are looking at it through biased glasses, everybody I have spoke to including members of his own camp agree with the fact that Jamie was hurt a few times and would have been stopped eventually, it was only his toughness that saved him, look at the video in the 3rd round Jamie was knocked through the ropes with left hook and his legs stiffened a couple of times, in fact it has come from his camp that Nasser shocked them with his strength and power and that Nas forced Jamie on the back foot for most of the fight, all the fighters from his gym know what happened, why do you think they don't want the rematch ? Remember Jamie was considered the bigger man, at the weigh-in Nasser weighed 10st 11lbs, Jamie about 11 stone, on the day of the fight Nasser weighed 11.2, I wonder what Jamie weighed 12st ? 12.5 ? Nasser is only 22 years old and at only 40% of his peak, Jamie 27-28 at his peak. Come on get real.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:I never see Ball really hurtmaley1984 wrote:safeerah wrote: Nasser Al Harbi to win by late stoppage or points.
