Gairy is getting on a bit. Wills lost to Mabuza, but that is no disgrace.

If your talking skill level, Gairy has it all over Steve, but Steve is a real tough kid, who always gives his best.

He has copped it in here and on other sites, a fair bit for his record, not having fought many good higher rated fighter's, he's now changed Trainers and with Lincoln, i believe they are looking to stand up and be counted.

So it's good to see that he's fighting an ageing, but still technically more sound fighter in Gairy, who has fought at a much higher level than Steve has, So he is willing to stand up, whether Gairy is on the wrong side of everything or not, it doesn't matter, he was and still is a good fighter.

I am sure they Realise that both Steve and Gairy do not have lots of time left, but theyre having a go, I see it as a real good fight, raw and mildly skilled, but toughness galore in Steve, versus the silky and speedy hand skills of Gairy, who has good upper body movement, better and faster hands than Steve, so it will be a battle of Wills (No Pun Intended)

On Skill and experience level, you'd have to favour Gairy, but on toughness, durability, power and reasonably good skills & fitness levels and a never say die attitude, (not that Gairy does not have these attributes) you'd have to favor Steve.

Well done to Brian and Brock, cos it's just another good fight that will be worth watching.

just my humble opinion, not that i know much.

Hi Col, How you been, I hope all is good.

Hey, Its funny, your not the first to say that, but every time i have ever met Steve and Adam, they are nothing but absolute gentlemen, I know your not bagging him, but i think it's all perception, because

I have never heard them be loud and noisy, or big mouths etc, or out of order, they have always been respectful, compliant and always show good manners and are respectful to everyone, So maybe people see them in a different way, to what i have seen them.

I must say they are real nice kids in my opinion, I have refereed and Judged them, while inside the ring, they are fierce competitors, who in my opinion and from what iv'e seen in person, always show good sportsmanship and courtesy to their opponents, forget the serious and mean looks you may get from an all business Steve, I think he's a nice kid, who is not a big mouth or is offensive.

Eitherway, I wish both Gairy and Stevee the best, cos their both good fighter's and yes they're coming to the latter part of their careers, but this still has the makings to be a real good fight.

It's a hard fight to pick, as we all agree, that's what makes it so interesting.

Cheers mate

St Clair is in his middle 30s, but Wills is only 28.

I think he has a few years left. It is not as if he has run up a lot of losses.

Nah Col, I knew it was only light hearted, but i'm a sure that Steve wouldn't mind me saying that Adam is better looking??? ha ha ha

I must admit that when Stevee has his game face on, it certainly makes one think "what have i got myself in for here"

Cheers

As his style has taken him to an IBF World Title (albeit briefly) I would imagine he would be reluctant to change it.

Most boxers never win a title of that prestige.

Gairy has lost 8 of his last 12 fights, but against fighters of greater calibre than Steven.

Gairy has not fought for over 12 months when he last porked up to 154lbs against Ryan Waters in a 12 rounder. The score-cards that night gave Ryan a bigger victory than what I saw on the TV, with Gairy taking a more aggressive role, dropping some of his silken defensive skills to land hits on Ryan, who was in trouble at times.

As he normally fights in the 135-138lb range, Gairy will have to depork somewhat, which plays into the hands of the aggressive, in-your-face style of Steven.

A loss for either fighters, will see the loser stuck in the ranks of the local fighters, with little prospect of fighting for decent bickies overseas.

Even if Gairy Wins, he loses...... Wills has always been overrated, he's first loss wasn't quite his first loss imo.

Wills needs to fight some decent LT Welters here in Australia and stop picking at the bones of over the hill fighters.

I see Garys 37 now,I don't really think that will play into wills hands as wills was never a quick boxer anyway,Gary's,pernell wittaker style nowerdays should frustrate wills.I see the judges being a big part of the decision as a KO isn't realistic IMO.If they see agression as being the points earner, wills has it,but if they see elusive boxing, slick manouvers and style,it has to be gary!I do understand lincs point of view as getting garys name on wills portfolio would be profitable, but anyone who thinks gary is still a hungry worldforce is kidding them selves.Did like gary ralfing his guts up against waters,ha ha!

What weight is this to be fought at? In recent times St Clair has fought at everything from feather weight to super welterweight.
