Well said! lol

Let's put it another way, Valero was no Hamed.

He was being groomed for a well paid defeat.

Yep, that's just my opinion, nothing more. But I agree with his defense being pretty "pregnable".

Fun to watch? Yeah, partly because it was inevitable that someone was going to accomplish what "loco" almost accomplished in the 3rd round of that fight. It was coming just as sure as the sunrise. (I'd forgotten I'd seen that....and your right...people will crow "he never hit the deck"......but neither did his opponent at the "end" of that fight.

However 27 for 27 is what it is, and a remarkable accomplishment. But time was running out for him, though none of could have predicted just how true that was.

Can you imagine what would get written about Lamar Clark if he retired or died when he was 42-0 (41 ko's) with 28 of those ko's in the 1st round?

I love threads like this because it's quicker than reading through the OP's postings & coming to a decision about them & weighing up the pros & cons of ignoring them. All they have to do is make one thread & hey Presto!

I click "ignore".

Wish there was more people on here who know their stuff thats all i can say now :) I dont like his personality or his antics out of the ring but in the ring he was an animal and showed relentless power, Each situation is different, Mike Tyson is a heavyweight not a lightweight so that changes the situation already

I know you don't frequent the current forum. This same sage has a thread asking if Broner is the next Mayweather.

There are plenty on here that do know their stuff :TU:

For you to say that Valero has to be the 'hardest puncher ever' and 'RIP', shows you up for what you know.

I don't believe that Edwin Valero committed suicide in that jail cell. I think he was murdered.

Think a few people are being a little overly harsh with regards to Valero's in ring ability in here, partly because of the ridiculous nature of the opening post, partly for very obvious reasons. As a fighter he was far from polished, but he seemed to be improving with each passing fight and he obviously hit pretty hard.

He never really beat anyone and his defense was beyond bad. While he could certainly punch, I have to question his mental toughness. When the going got tough, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him pack up and quit.

That was one of the worst efforts I've ever seen. I still think DeMarco sucks because of it. He was like a mouse trying to stay away from an elephant. Mosquera was better than that.

Hey Saad. What season of The Simpsons is that episode where Homer Boxes? I've got a bunch of them 1-5, 7, 10 and 13. I'm thinking it must be Season 6 or 8, but I've always wanted to have that one.

And for the record, I think Mayweather and Pacquiao would've beat the crap out of Valero, he would've hardly ever touched Mayweather, I sincerely doubt he'd land many shots on Juan Manuel Marquez either. I'm probably giving him too much credit by implying it would take that level of opponent to expose him, but whatever.

I hope he is locked in a room with Gilbert Godfrey's voice on a constant loop while Hitler orders Michael jackson to teabag him.
:OhYes: What a horrible hell you have envisioned for Valero.
Valero was entertaining while tearing though fringe contenders (& his DeMarco win has matured well), but he wouldn't have kept his undefeated record long had he lived + didn't go to prison. He certainly had some great physical atributes, which allowed him to get as far as he did while lacking defense. I think he may have prevented himself from becoming severly overrated b/c of how he went out. Watching Marquez break him down would have been fantastic.
