Not much, maybe better off the back foot but I haven't seen enough of Armstrong to say for sure.

To say that the great Roberto Duran did not fight good and excellent fighters at lightweight you may have to see those fights again. Those guys knew how to fight: Ken Buchanan, Ishimatsu Suzuki, Esteban De Jesus, Ray Lampkin, Hector Thompson, Edwin Viruet, Saoul Mamby and Vilomar Fernandez. The great Henry Armstrong would have trouble with those guys, too. Lots of trouble.scotto wrote:homocide hank wins easily look at the fighters duran fought at lightweight duran was a great fighter but the opponents he fought dont meassure up to armstrong at lw bert sugar named armstrong the second greatest fighter of all time. take a close look at armstrongs record its amazing he did not fight a lot of cab drivers .
I thought stating Armstrong would have lots of trouble with the likes of Saoul Mamby & Ray Lampkin took the cake for this post, but this...elmersalsa wrote:To say that the great Roberto Duran did not fight good and excellent fighters at lightweight you may have to see those fights again. I could live by if someone is saying that Henry would beat Roberto. I could live with that. But to say that Duran's quality of opposition at lightweight was not up to par that would be very unfair statement to say. I cannot see Armstrong beating Duran at no weight class. Duran feast of these type of Armstrong's quality.
Everybody got their own opinion. If you say that Armtrong beat Duran...Fine...That is your opinion. My opinion is that Duran would feast with guys of Armstrong's style. He would not be able to overwhelm Duran in the infighting and did not had the upper body strenght to match Duran's.Goodnight, Irene wrote:I thought stating Armstrong would have lots of trouble with the likes of Saoul Mamby & Ray Lampkin took the cake for this post, but this...elmersalsa wrote:To say that the great Roberto Duran did not fight good and excellent fighters at lightweight you may have to see those fights again. "I cannot see Armstrong beating Duran at no weightclass. Duran feast on these type of ARMSTRONG'S QUALITY."
...is magnificent. Hahahaha.
To say nothing of the generosity shown here...
"I could live by if someone is saying Henry would beat Roberto."
Gee. How forgiving.

Armstrong doesnt show up after the lumps he takes beating Saoul Mamby, apparently.
I have never said that Henry had zero chance. Now, I am saying that he would not win a 3-fight series against RobertoGoodnight, Irene wrote:The fact you make it clear Armstrong, who you rank as P4P #1 in all of history, has zero chance here ("I Just cannot see Henry beating Roberto") closes the book on any pretense of objectivity you have regarding Duran.

Whatever, mateGoodnight, Irene wrote:You change your opinion or wording from minute-to-minute!
You must be out of your mind. It takes more than an all out attack to overwhelm and beat Duran. Guys like Armstrong were perfect for him. Guys that came forward to really fight. It would be an interesting scrap, but Armstrong would not cope with a complete and intelligent fighter like Duran.keithmoonhangover wrote:Both in there primes, I'd take Armstrong by a close 15 round decision.
