Been doing abit of research and finding extreme answers, some say Teddy atlas gets around $18k per show and others say about $75k per year, although it appears a great job and a great hourly rate there's loads of work being done off air, I know Ed Robinson posts on this forum and I wont blame him for not sharing his salary, but he does loads of hours from home. Buncey and lillis at the moment seem to be working 24/7 so I hope the money's good for them !

Buncey also writes for the Indie and one of the mags as well and regularly appears on Fighting Talk on BBC as well plus does his radio show every Monday on BBC London which I heard recently on IPlayer which is quite good as well. I was listening to show on there and I ended up hearing my best mate doing the traffic on there as well.

Buncey also does a programme with Chappers on ESPN on a Sunday night which is very popular and does the tips for a bookmaker aswell (cant remember which one though). His radio programme on thursdays is the most downloaded regional podcast in uk apparently.

most media work is on a freelance basis so the pundits will be paid a fee for each broadcast. The exception to that would be someone like Adam Smith who is employed full time at Sky as Head of Boxing.

Atlas is working for a very very big network, but that still sounds an awful lot for a single show. I can imagine he's on a retainer, and gets paid per show based on the value of that - 200k a year doesn't sound unreasonable.

id be shocked if any of them get more than a couple of hundred quid a day.

radio presenters on your local station (not chris moyles etc) get about £60 a shift, guys working in tescos probably make more, they are expected to use their status to earn money doing compere gigs etc.

i would think the tv companies have the same opinion, we will pay you peanuts and you can use our tv exposure to get yourself nice paying freelance jobs with newspapers etc...

Remember Buncey sounding off on Setanta about Kellerman earning $500k a year at HBO - if true that's a hell of a whack.

Why they would pay that turd 500k defies me. I suppose he is well suited to the American market audience, but i find him hard to stomach, when he's on i often feel like i've tuned into a WWF broadcast by error. For me he lowers the tone of our sport.

How many appearances does Kellerman have to do for that though?

HBO boxing give him a lot to do, and he's exclusive to them.

I think you'll find that the Sky pundits - Nelson, Watt, McCrory, etc are all contracted to Sky and paid a salary commensurate with that.
It would be mad not to have them contractually tied in and paid ad hoc as some suggest, as that would enable them to work for instance with Channel 5 at the same time.
However guest pundits (fighters) just for shows are paid a fixed fee and to be frank, a "couple of hundred" quid is off the mark it's more.
They also get chauffeured from home to the fight !

I'd love to know what Eubank got that infamous night that SKY bundled him out of the pundit box during the commercial break.

It was the Tyson/Francis fight on SBO, clip here but they don't show them hurridly going to the adverts and bundling Eubank out the commentary box. You can see Dempsey's hole going penny dollar.

Classic. You've got to love Eubank.

I also love the time Nigel Benn was on BBC One as a pundit. Audley Harrison had just put in a rubbish performance, and John Invadale asked Nigel what he thought of Audley's performance, and he said 'not a lot' and then commented about how he doesn't watch much boxing anymore and how he enjoyed it better in the old days, to which 'Invadale asked him 'when did you prefer boxing?. Nigel thought for a moment, before replying, 'when it was on ITV'. Suprisingly, they didn't use him again :-)

Firstly, wake up! Nowhere near 150k! Deary me! But you can't include Adam Smith amongst them as he is a Sky executive, the Head of Boxing. He will earn more than a presenter/pundit obviously

My guess would be, and it is a guess. Nelson's on £2k a week tops. I'd estimate guest pundits with nothing to sell between a monkey and a £1k.

:TU: LOL i remember that too! Nigel had slurred speech and was bizarre. I put it down to him being punchdrunk since i hadnt seen him for so many years. But in later years he was far more lucid! So my conclusion is he was ppissed that night!

I remember watching a late night highlights show as a kid on itv ( I think ) and Eubank was doing a bit of in studio analysis. After one domestic fight, they were all raving about it being fight of the year, a British classic etc and when they asked Chris his opinion of it he said something along the lines of ' I did not find that exciting one bit ' and then slagged the quality of the fight off!

No idea who the fight was between, I was very young but Eubanks reaction has stuck with me ever since!
