The recent and last chance for European Boxers to make it to London 2012 has once again highlighted the corruption in Amateur Boxing.The Host country ended up with over 8 boxers qualifying at this event alone, while at the recent Chemistry cup in Halle only 1 of 8 Turkish boxers made it through to the Semi Finals. Whereas in Trabazon these same boxers suddenly became indestructible. Joe Ward and Paddy Barnes two Irish European Champions were robbed against two Turks and while Barnes made it through Ward ranked 2 in the World did'nt due to the Judges awarding point for phantom punches for a Turk who Ward beat except on the judges scorecards.
10 Aussie Boxers are through despite Australia only ever winning 5 medals in Boxing History, due to the easy Oceania qualifying tournament.Also why are England, Scotland, Wales allowed send boxes when they only compete as one nation in the Olympics? Can we have a level playing pitch for all??
