Most Intimidating Person To Share The Ring With.
Imagine you could hop in a time machine and take someone's place for a fight, which boxer would intimidade you the most - specify which fight in their career.
I wouldn't like to take the place of.....
Willard vs Dempsey
Spinks vs Tyson
Papke vs Ketchel (the fight after the throat punch)

I would say Liston. I mean, he enjoyed hurting people.

I'm surprised no one has agreed with '88 Tyson.
Before he met up with Douglas, Tyson was the epitome of intimidating.

You know, I initially considered '61 Liston and '69 Frazier in addition to '88 Tyson and '73 Foreman, but only chose the latter two because I felt they would both damn near do anything in the ring.Rocky Balboa wrote:I would say Liston. I mean, he enjoyed hurting people.
Look at what Foreman did to the pathetically over-matched King Roman, actually swinging at the guy when he was down.
The thought of facing that kind of mentality adds to the intimidation factor.
I know Joe was better than that and suspect Sonny was, too.

Liston was above Foreman in the decency stakes?

Liston doubtless HAD to do some bad things in his life, but deep down I do not think he was a bad guy. Could be totally wrong on this.
'73 Foreman, on the other hand, was just a punk. He is on record as wanting to KILL someone in the ring back then just to build his reputation even more.
And no, before you misinterpret, my opinion on this has nothing to do with GF taking out JF.

I wouldnt bet the safety of my cranium on it.
Foreman aspired to be as nasty as Liston.

I always thought Frazier would be a very intimidating person to share the ring with. Foreman said he was intimidated when he faced Joe.
