The split is only when the mandator challenger has gone to purse bids . A voluntary would be a agreed deal.

Had a fight gone to purse bids then its 60/40 in favour of the Champ.
For a voluntary its whatever is negotiated and agreed.
Of course even a manadatory can be negotiated and agreed pre purse bids.
