Former British based fighter gets a big fight.

Widely forgotton former world rated fighter (who based himself in Britain for years) Tontcho Tontchev gets to fight undefeated WBO#1 and WBA#2 contender, Janos Nagy, for the IBC Super Featherweight title.

Tontchev is probably a little past his but could represent Nagy's hardest challenge yet. Nagy has had two fights with former WBO Featherweight champion, Julio Pablo Chacon the first was a tenth round TKO (Chacon did not recover after 5 minutes after recieving a low blow) and in the rematch he won a close but unaminous decision. As we have seen in his fights with Harrison and Polo, Chacon is an okay fighter but nothing special.

The fight takes place a week tommorow (10th September) in Nagy's home town. Whilst he will be the underdog a win for Tontchev will put him right back in the picture.

How about the winner of this match vs Arthur.

Didn't Tontchev get stopped recently? He was always a classy operator, but when the IBC becomes a big fight you know it's time to think about hanging up the gloves

He did, came back with a win.

I didn't mean the IBC title as the big think - Naggy is highly ranked with the WBO and WBC that is the big thing.

I hope Arthur is watching this fight, it might be an avenue he should look at.

I hope Arthur stays on his European route to be honest and if all goes well you would expect him to appear in line for the WBC title, that has to be the way for him to go.

Both are European, that is why I am looking at them. How about the winner fighting Arthur for the European title and a number 1 ranking (maybe with more than one organisation). That would appeal to the opponent aswell and I am sure will ditch the IBC belt to get the crack at the EBU title.

No that's fair enough i think Nagy would be a good opponent for Arthur as long as it is for the Euro title and that IBC thing is as far out of sight as possible. It will be interesting to see what happens when Arthur trully steps up, what is this Nagy guy like? Anyone seen him fight.

Hopefully the IBC is just a bauble platform for Nagy. He's #1 for the EBU and Barrios' WBO title. Don't know which he's thinking about taking tho.

Any ideas?

I know you showed the list the other day but I thought Limond was the #1 for the EBU.

Limond is the official challenger (which means he is not in the ratings) and Nagy is #1

I don't think anything would be achieved by seeing Arthur-Limond II, i don't think Limond has improved enough to beat Arthur. Limond-Nagy could be interesting though.
