Don't get your point mate.
Hatton Promotions Ltd is not totally reliant upon the "head" as you put it.
In any event Ricky is over his bad spell - but I have no idea why you think that is relevent to his Promotion Company putting on a good show.
The Company will deliver - it has to !

Clear message to the rest - match that.
I think this can only be good for the fans.
I expect Hatton in particular to rise to the challenge.
Good times for boxing fans .......
Hattons can do that for sure.
are you still sure?

I think HP would have delivered on the Sky platform, and the Quigg Munroe was the next step up.
However, it seems that is not to be, which means HP have to find a new platform to show its wares.
I am not wanting to come over as a major HP supporter - just as a boxing fan - and I think we have to be careful what we wish for here.
Matchroom have a virtual monopoly on boxing on Sky.
Is that healthy ?
I think we've been here before and the sound bites were great but the reality not so great.
Competition is healthy.
Where is Eddie's competition on Sky ?
Please don't say Maloney - that's all about Sky wanting a piece of Price.
No Price there would have been no Maloney.

I wonder if Sky are trying to learn a lesson from UFC.

Get all the fighters under one umbrella and then that promotor feel safe making serious fights as he wont lose his best asset upon defeat.

I remember Adam Smith saying some time ago that the promotors MUST start working together. I can't think of any serious examples of this ever happening in recent times so perhaps Sky have thought to themselves 'right, if they're gonna still make crap fights and preserve their fighters records, we'll make the decision for them ...'

I agree that monopolies are not of themselves healthy but the number of times the boxing status quo has let us down beggars belief. Look at the situation with the three premier british middleweights - three class operators all at their peaks and no chance of them fighting each other as all have different promotional allegiances. It wouldn't happen in any other sport. It's been said before but imagine if Man United and Man City kept refusing to play each other?

i know we've seen it all before and this does happen from time to time, its still hard to get casual fans to turn up id there is a chance it will go off in the crowd.

That been said i had a great night :TU:
I think it had a lot to do with them allowing bear in the arena
I'd certainly empty my seat (and bowels) in that scenario
The idea of them releasing a live bear in the arena, during the fight is just about the funniest thing i can imagine.

"We thought that the bear would provide an interesting diversion between the fights" a Sports Network spokesman explained today "We did not anticipate that the animal would react in such a negative and aggressive fashion"

35 people were killed when the 460 pound Grizzly Bear attacked nearby fans shortly after being released into the arena.

The spokesman added it was "unlikely" that live bears would be released in future fights.
