I hope Hearn is going to be offering better than that in the future with their new Sky deal.
I watch Friday Night Fights and ESPN very rarely show mismatches. The chief support is almost always as competitive as the main event. If I was Mr Sky, I wouldn't show the garbage that was on after the main event.

Why didnt we get to see Thompson, Quigley,Watson or Clarkson? Was a bit random showing the other fights and not those.

Pehaps this is the way forward now Pretty Boy Hearn has control.. I know it was a Coldwell show, but poor Dave didnt even get a LIVE word on Tv........
I don't mind if they show it live or not as long as it is interesting and competitive.

Novices fighting journeymen in 4 rounders doesn't interest me.

I don't get it. The Watson and Thompson undercard fights seemed like much more important fights to show than the novice vs no mark fights that they showed from the undercard.

Time to step up into European class now. With McIntosh being a former European champ I'd imagine (and I haven't checked the EBU ratings) he held a decent ranking so surely Tony must be up there after stopping him in such a one sided affair.

Well done tonigt Tony(tough coming from a rabid Red to a rabid Blue but due credit none the less) you put on one hell of a show tonight mate. Was really impressed with that performance.

Just watching a fella called Ismail Shallack on the net now. He is supposed to be a Russian now American whos rated top 10. Judging by what Ive seen from the 2 of you fellas tonight if hes top 10 Gid knows how far up you are. Teddy Atlas has been saying tonight "One big right hand from a proven guy and hes down." Guess what just happened, the oppo clocked him with a right and never followed it up.

The worlds your oyster at Light Heavy mate. Hope you can get matched highly in the future.

A scintalating performance from Bellew & I don't buy into the comments about McIntosh being finished or even that he was rubbish, Bellew was simply on fire and that was a career best win IMO.

I was expecting a wild & exciting British title thriller, but Bellew was in such fine form it turned into a one sided beat down.

Have to say, and I do hate it when fights are stopped too soon, but WTF was Mcintosh's corner doing sending him out for the 5th round!? The fight was over and brave Danny should have been spared getting walloped like that.

Would they of had to pay the boxers more if their fights were on TV??

I agree the undercard was piss poor last night, main event was a big domestic cracker though, I suspect that the purse bid was pretty big and maybe not much left for decent undercard bouts!

You clearly have no clue what you are talking about mate! The guy who was 1-10 has been a pro for 8 months and has been in with some decent fighters & has defo been turned over on a few decisions, smith, evans! He had Billy Morgan virtually exhausted at the end of a six rounder despite being a naturally smaller guy (Dan can make super bantam on a day before weigh in) was in a cracking fight with Josh Warrington losing rounds but was well in every round!! The fight on friday was made at 9.5 Dan made the weight but Colquhoun came in 3 3/4 pounds over!! Granted it was a cracking shot to finish the fight but upto that point I had Dan winning all 3, Colquhoun admitted himself after the fight that he was struggling!! You are clearly someone who looks at a paper record & dismisses someone as rubbish without knowing what your talking about! Who said Colquhoun was a "hot prospect"?? He'd had 2 routine points wins no knockouts!! I think it is you who should be ashamed for making stupid comments not the board for sanctioning this type of fight!! How else are fighters gonna gain any experience? Who would you match Colquhoun with next time? Answers please!

No they don't have pay more if they show a fight on TV mate, all the purses are agreed before the show starts its then upto Sky what they televise from the undercard!

Oh & while I'm at it the other fights may or may not have been totally boring witch may have been the reason sky chose to show what they showed! What's wrong with a few undercard fighters getting a bit of air time once in a while? You lot are so hard to please, always moaning / bitching / having a go at someone! You don't want youngsters to fight journeymen then when someone loses the "he's got nowhere else to go" line gets trotted out!!! Cardle will have learned that he ain't gonna KO everyone after being in with two of the hardest journeymen in the sport & Calquhoun had a tough fight up until the KO, Burton would have learned a fair bit too!!

Firstly, I want to make it clear that I am not having a go at either of the fighters and I have respect for anyone that puts their health on the line by stepping in the ring. The point I am trying to make is that Dan was brought in to lose and most of the time the person that is brought in to lose does so. When I said 'hot prospect', I may be getting ahead of myself on that one, but I go back to the point that Dan was brought in to lose.

Regarding the matchmaking..... Have a look at this thread I started.

http://boxrec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=151440

What I am trying to say is - and this is my question to you - Why can't Dan be matched with someone who he has a good chance of beating? Someone with a similar record and someone of a similar ability. The way he is being matched (and I hope he proves me wrong!) he is going to be called in to be the opponent and will probably lose when he is supposed to. That is what is wrong with our sport.

In answer to your question, who should Colquhoun be matched with next, well, I'd pay to watch him fight David Lake. I wouldn't pay to see him fight Ryan McNicol.
