What's your weekly exercise routine?
I have been trying to change my routine up a bit and its working well. My body feels better than it has ever felt and I'm continuing to drop weight and get stronger. I find its all about doing new stuff and keeping the workouts fun. I used to do the same damn gym routine every week and not only did it get boring, I wasn't really getting into functional, good shape.
Kettlebells twice a week.
"Park Workout" twice a week (Combination of lots of pushups, pullups/L-pullups, dips, yoga poses, sprints, basically anything I can think of to do and I usually come up with something different every time. I just try to do all my exercises from different angles, hand position, leg positon etc...)
"Long Run" twice a week. By long run I mean a few miles. My cardio is absolute shit and its a work in progress.
Once every other week I will get in the gym and do heavy squats, deadlifts, and bench press.
I'm going to start trying to do a yoga class once in a while too.

I find everything in life to be more enjoyable, whenever I employ this principle. When it's more enjoyable you can do a lot more of EVERYTHING.Prediction..Pain wrote:I find its all about doing new stuff

Working on a 2 on 1 off body parts split at the moment, footy on a Sunday as well. Going to give it a couple of months then will change it up over summer.
Re: What's your weekly exercise routine?
I'm changing mine up and it will be based on:
Running
Rowing
Nordic Skiing (Concept2 SkiErg)
Swimming
Yoga
Boxing
Kettlebells
Gymnastics
Plyometrics
Conditioning/Circuits type stuff (not Crossfit shit....doing Olympic lifts for time is one of the dumbest ideas possible)
Neck-Core-Hands Training
Jump Rope

Re: What's your weekly exercise routine?
2 hours of tai chi everyday. 15 mins on the wooden dummy. 5 mins on the heavy bag at an intense pace.
at weekends I throw in 12 x 3 minute rounds on the floor to ceiling ball.
once in a blue moon I will go on a long run, maybe once a month. Need to up that badly. If I start to look a bit shabby I will do some light weights with lots of reps, but they tend to bore me senseless. would rather hit the bag.

BJJ 3-4 times a week, and crossfit 3 times a week. Sometimes chuck in a swim one day too, but no real distance, just use as an active rest day and then lounge about the sauna/steam/jacuzzi for a few hours too.
Re: What's your weekly exercise routine?
crossfit 3 days on 1 day off. just started this week. working towards a set structure utilising - cardio, weight lifting, body weight and gymnsatic movements.

Re: What's your weekly exercise routine?
Im planning on upping my fitness work tomorrow. I'v been out of traing fo a year or so until 2 months ago where I resumed light training until the flue/ lazyness curbed that. I plan on getting my base fitness up over the next 6-8 weeks before getting into any skill work. I have the following plan in mind:
Gym 3 days a week alternating between 6 routines; Upper 1, Lower 1, Upper 2, Lower 2, Upper 3, Lower. One cycle is takes 2 weeks to complete.
Run 3 times a week. I'll be starting on a beginners running 4-week plan to run 4 miles, after this I'll be starting a 12 week plan building up to half marathon.
If I get any spare time In a morning I may encorporate some skipping and perfect pushups into my schedule

Re: What's your weekly exercise routine?
Weights - bodyparts split over 4 days.
Boxing - once per week.
Cycling - once per week
Will try and squeeze in a couple of short runs (1-3 miles).
Always have one rest day per week.
You're right about mixing it up. I was away at the weekend and trained in a hotel TechnoGym (I normally only use free weights & pull-ups) for a couple of days. I still feel stiff from the pull downs and leg press - much more so than I would from pull-ups & squats. Variety is key.

Re: What's your weekly exercise routine?
New member and first post here so be gentle.
I'm currently 36 and took up Boxing 3 years ago. Ive always been a general gym user and keep in ok shape, but wanted a new challenge. I was like a fish out water at the start.
Last November I had my first unlicenced fight. I know the unlicenced scene has mixed reviews here, but it was decent show and I was proud to have my friends and family there to watch me.
A few weeks ago someone asked me to send them my pre fight training routine which I kept a copy of, so here it is:
Monday:
Evening Sparring Class. One and half hours,
Short warm up followed by 8-10 rounds Sparring, depending on numbers in class normally 2 rounds at a time, maybe followed by some circuit training.
Tuesday:
8am 1 Hour Boxing session.
Warm up - Ten minutes skipping, 2 rounds Shadow boxing, 1 Round on the bag.
6-7 rounds on Pads.
Hard short circuit like sprints, bear crawls, Burpees etc.
(in my own time after the hour) Abs, 300 reps spilt into 4-6 different exercises.
Wednesday:
8am Sparring 1 hour. Private session where I meet another boxer.
Warm up - Ten minutes skipping, 2 rounds Shadow boxing, 1 Round on the bag.
6-7 Rounds Sparring
Circuit, normally sprints and then Abs 300 reps.
Thursday:
AM Run. Different every week.
Sometimes long and steady about 5-6 miles is longest.
Other times shorter and faster roughly 2-3 miles, fast as I can last 1/4 mile.
Or slight up hill sprints. 100m x 10 gentle jog back in between each sprint.
Friday:
Boxing session same as Tuesday
Saturday:
Weights. Different every week.
Sometimes heavy compound movements like Squats or Deadlifts heavy as I can, low number of reps and sets.
Other times light cable stuff with high reps, and many other combinations in between. Always followed by ten minutes fast rowing or running machine.
Sunday:
Rest
