Matthew Hall vs Sam Webb
Matthew Hall vs Sam Webb
Seems like a decent fringe-level British scrap tonight, any thoughts?
Personally I think Hall is still pretty shot looking, he hasn't done anything since he came back to make me think 'wow, he's back'. Although decent enough in his last fight I still think Webb wins comfortably, the only interesting aspect being how much did the Arron defeat take out of Webb?

Re: Matthew Hall vs Sam Webb
Odds are 1/2 Sam Webb, 9/4 Matty Hall.
I quite fancy Sam Webb for the KO/TKo at 5/2 actually, as Hall doesn't usually get long rounds anymore if he's struggling in a fight which i think he will.

Re: Matthew Hall vs Sam Webb
Great to see boxing back at the Albert Hall, and this could be fight of the night.
I was impressed with Hall last time out, he looked a completly rejuvinated boxer. got his desire back and his fitness was excellent. Webb hasn't boxed since losing his British title and i would of liked him to of got at least a 6 rounder in before this one, but he's got to get right back into it with a big puncher. if there's any doubts in his mind then Hall might find him with a big punch early on. But Webb seems to be a confident lad and i think he'll be expecting a big start from Hall.
I think this fight comes down to who controls the middle rounds, Hall has faded in fights he controlled early on, and Webb looked to be a good finisher of distance fight until he ran into Arron.
Ok my prediction is Hall on points, close decision. with maybe a knockdown making the difference

Richard Keys just announced on Allegedly channel that Hall is up against "Welsh". And in the early hours of tomorrow morning they've got the unknown Bernard "Hopkin" thrown in against Chad Dawson. And then Paulie Malignaggi is up against Shevchenko, following the latter's unexpected switch of career from football to boxing.
Webb v Hall could be a cracker. I think it's a real 50-50 fight after Hall looking so sharp last time out.

Wow Bryne's trainer Mark Tibbs throws the towel in, and enters the ring. the ref Bob Williams throws the towel out and waves Tibbs away.
Must be something to do with Graham Earl in the other corner

Real cheap shot and the referee seemed to say "Go on son, have him!"Old bones Ian wrote:haha yeah i thought the same thing, imagine if Byrne had knocked out Holmes with that punch when Holmes was celebrating!!iamasadlittleboy wrote:Carlos Molina's trainer must be sat at home thinking "****ing hell we got ****ed up the ****"Old bones Ian wrote:Wow Bryne's trainer Mark Tibbs throws the towel in, and enters the ring. the ref Bob Williams throws the towel out and waves Tibbs away.

Bob Williams isn't my favourite ref by far, and he should fo got between the boxers when he let the fight go on. not let Byrne go in like that. But i also think it was the right decision to throw the towel out

Bunce needs to learn who to frame an interview with, Holmes has just scored the biggest win of his career. and he left there whilst Buncey focuses most of his time letting Byrne fire off about being robbed (which he wasn't). Holmes was sat right next to them and not allowed time to answer

"'e owes me a rematch"-No, no he doesn't, especially not after that cheap shot.

He is shocking is Buncey. I had it the same as Bob (scary I know). Bunce seemed to be giving random rounds to Byrne and ended up giving in Byrne by one. He also seems to drag Rawlins down when they are on together.Old bones Ian wrote:Bunce needs to learn who to frame an interview with, Holmes has just scored the biggest win of his career. and he left there whilst Buncey focuses most of his time letting Byrne fire off about being robbed (which he wasn't). I love Bernard Hopkins now!!!
Re: Matthew Hall vs Sam Webb
Kinda liked Byrne but he didn't present himself well there at all. How did he think the other corner threw the towel in when he was getting bashed against the ropes?iamasadlittleboy wrote:Byrne came across horribly as wellOld bones Ian wrote:Bunce needs to learn who to frame an interview with, Holmes has just scored the biggest win of his career. and he left there whilst Buncey focuses most of his time letting Byrne fire off about being robbed (which he wasn't). An interviewer needs to be strong enough to pull the interview back and get it back on track. You can't just let someone sound off, its something Buncey will learn hopefully.

Hall needs to throw a jab when trying to get inside.

Agreed.
He could do with a jab in his arsenal.

If Webb works the body more he will stop him.
Re: Matthew Hall vs Sam Webb
I've got Hall slightly ahead on my card but he is slowing rapidly and Webb coming on now.

Webb up by 1 for me, those boxers rawling is banging on about look empty to me.
Re: Matthew Hall vs Sam Webb
For me Webb is coasting too much, not doing enough, if you want to win it on the back foot I think you have to be doing slightly more than he is doing. I have Hall 1 up and seems to be having a good 10th.
Re: Matthew Hall vs Sam Webb
Didn't see the end of the Byrne-Holmes fight but Byrne isn't a bad fella, must have got a bit emotional. He must be feeling his career ebbing away. This is the guy that Freddie Roach once said was world title class. I know he's not eligible but hypothetically, would he win a British title?
