That's right lads a "REWARD" of $500 is on offer!!!

to anyone that finds "fight footage" of BERT GILROY the Scottish Champion and Britain's most feared fighter of the Golden Era the - 1930's and 40's, we KNOW footage exsists, Gilroy himself says there was a full 15 rounder filmed (Scottish title fight, either McCusker or Shaw I or II)...

some of you might remember Roy Witts the little Welsh "trainer/coach - manager, he say he remembers seeing Bert Gilroy and Vince Hawkins at the 'pictures' when he was a youngster...

and at least "one" of the bouts with Mills, Woodcock or Cerdan MUST have been filmed...

So make inquieries!
Someone has got some footage, Old Uncles or Local Boxing Historians or Collectors, or Film Collectors in general... it's out there!!!

Jim, I'll be making similar enquires about Jackie Paterson fights soon (library archives are finally re-opening), I'll also bring up Bert and see what comes up.

Thanks Manos, good luck with your Jackie Paterson quest, Bert knew him well. It sure would be nice to speak to someone who was there, someone who hung with these greats and who knows all about them!

Anyway, can this request be put up as a "sticky" for awhile?
