Queensbury League - Eurosport tonight 10pm - opinions

I'd be interested to see what people reckon on the Queensbury League - on Eurosport tonight at 10

My overiding view is - its a shame Eurosport cannot do any further investment on the licenced game in the UK. But some boxing is better than none.

I guess its the "title" avenue that plays an impact.... all TV companies love a title fight, and I would imagine it comes alot cheaper in the unlicenced game.

Queensbury league is a real fight unlike some of the rubbish u see with all the protected prospects! :) Wonder how many pros will move over to that ;)

I agree the fighters don't get paid much in Queensbury League but at least they get too fight and also they ain't only contracted into one ring sport so they can do other fights and stay active... Boxing is a very big joke which seems to be very unprofessional imo or is it just the people i have been dealing with in the fight game?!

but if any licensed fighter went over to that,i think the board wouldn't be in a rush to re licensed them if they wanted to join the pro ranks again

yeah i know but i ain't a licensed fighter at the moment... I aint paying more money for a licence when i cant even get fights... ha nearly £600 for medical and the £100 for the licence every year... hmmm... If i cant get fights i be aswell just throwing that money down the drain! :P

I went as much to say i would fight anyone and i cant still be matched pmsl.... Really who is the person who sits at there desks and does not make the fights happen lmao

I think that it is a very well run show and eurosport do a great job with it definitely think they should do the same sort of this g with professional Boxing (get to know fighters etc) there are a few decent fights per show but most of the Boxing is of a really low standard and i dont think that any decent pros would take a step into the queensbury league. It is great for fighters that either cannot afford to or are not good enough to turn pro but i see it as a bit of a dead end route to take especially when there are guys fighting for british titles after 1 or 2 bouts. But it is what it is and I have a few pals that do it and they are all decent enough fighters to turn pro but can't really dedicate themselves for one reason or another to take that step so good luck to them.

A lad i train was due to box on 1st dec in Nottingham but promoter just contacted me to say the fight might be off as his opponent has been asked to fight on queensbury boxing league show the week before (24th Nov)

Now i can understand him wanting to take it if its good pay etc but reading this thread that doesnt sound like its the case , theres tv exposure etc but the guy is just a banger , no real skill so not as if hes needing to get his name out there .

Maybe its just frustration on my part i dont know, but i dont get how they can ask for guys not to box for a month either side of their events if they aren't paying well .

Does anyone actually know how much they pay ?
