Can this venture be making any money? Free tickets - no UK TV coverage (I know the UK isn't the be all and end all).

It is strictly amateur so it shouldn't be about making money, but still there has been investment in the World Series of Boxing.

It's a good idea but it hasn't really worked, Stu. I reckon AIBA must be taking a hit on this.

As for the event itself tonight, I'd definitely go if I could. I believe it's an Olympic test event (testing the venue, etc. I mean).

For sure, it'll take me about 10 mins to walk (casually) to the ExCeL so it'd be rude not to.

I thought Allegedly channel was showing it?
Not sure about the final, but they haven't shown the series up till the final. Premier Sports showed nearly all the prelims and the final last year - but it was clearly not a ratings winner..... the comments on facebook by Premier Sports advertising stated as much. Stuff like "for the few people still interested" etc! Quite funny really, I asked them if they would show it again, the reply was short sweet and too the point - "nobody appears to care enough about it for us to continue to show it beyond our current deal".

Good event last night. Does it make money? Not at the moment. Olympic test event for boxing was last november. Not bad crowd there yesterday, some goodish bouts and good presentation.
