Rhodes' last fight for Hatton? Looks like Ricky thinks so!

I think this is really embarassing and poor behaviour from Ricky. If i was Rhodes i would be upset by this. There's no reason at all why Ricky can't sit this one out and adopt a neutral position for one fight.

Makes Ricky's complaints about Sky not delivering the bad news face-to-face look a bit hollow - he didn't even tell the Rhodes camp that he's training the bloke who wants to knock him out and thus end his career.

Personally i think Rhodes is going to lose so it'll be his last fight anyway.
When Ryan wins then it be obvious he will wnat to leave if his promotors in the other guys corner.

Theres 2 sides to the story gents!

Ricky has said he thought he'd made it clear to Ryan after the first one was postponed that he'd be in Rabchenkos corner. Why's is everyone getting on his back?

From a promotors point of view its surely the right thing to do? Rhodes nearing the end of his career and Rabchenko is an undefeated hungry up and comer.....
So what you're really saying is that 'business is business and there's no room for sentiment'.

I've got no problem with that that logic.

That's what Sky are saying too - and he doesn't like it when he's on the wrong end of it!

Just got back from the Press Conference.
It is difficult for anyone to argue against the fact that Ricky has put himself in an awkward situation.
As a Promotor he should quite frankly be sat ringside in his smart suit and neutral.
As for making it clear that this was going to happen - sorry Ricky that is not the case.
When Ryan had to pull out of the fight on 24/3 Ricky did indeed say he would be in Rabchenko's corner because Ryan was no longer the opponent but stated that when the fight was rescheduled he would adopt the role of Promotor.
Ultimately it's nothing more than a disappointment for Team Rhodes.
Many a good man has backed the wrong racehorse.
I just hope that there are no problems during the fight or any contentious issues or the conspiracy theorists are going to have a field day.
As for the Press Conference itself it was quite low key which surprised me.
Not one question was raised about the Sky issue for instance.
Where were you Messrs Dooley amd McNeilly with the questions ?! :TU:
Tanner - you are right in what you say.

100% correct. Ricky is lining himself up for shit storm here, wide open to litigation perhaps? Massive conflict of interest. Not sure if its even allowed. Must check.

Certainly he's got a problem if Rhodes loses in a contentious or controversial way.

Or if any bells start ringing at the wrong time!

Think he been making a few strange decisions. The way they promoted Munroe as well. On that card both Munroe and Rhodes will be like oppostion fighters

Not much loyalty in boxing, routing Rhodes to win big time now, that aside it looks like a decent bill

Cheers! :TU: Rick gets some as well and puts them up, but I upload stuff to another site so the more pressers the better.
All the press releases go in this section anyway so if you miss any you can find them here - http://www.hattonboxing.com/promotions/press-releases

Anyone else thinking that maybe this gets more interest in the fight?

Rhodes has been in the game long enough to know when to spin a story, as has Hatton.

Got you all talking, hasn't it? :OhYes:

The story has no "spin" to it.
It is what it is.
Uttterly irrelevent now.
What is important is the fight.

I think Hatton is using it as a platform for casual fans to see him
sure there wont be any malice meant to Ryan .Motivated by Sky's treatment
of him and possibly to steady his young fighters nerves.
I've watched Rabchenko and he has not fought anywhere
near Ryan's level . Hatton is not silly maybe Rabchenko is
the next star of HP i doubt it on what i've seen .
Rhodes by 8th round stoppage . :box:
