Fearon was absolutely abysmal. Must have thought he was speaking with the 'man dem' or something. Far to colloquial for my liking, I'll mute him if he is commentating again

Re: Marco Huck v Ola Afolabi
It was a good old scrap. Perhaps not one for the purists but you have to admire their hearts. Huck is technically awful but when he decides its time for action, he swings with conviction and menace that takes some stopping, couple that with a great chin and you've got a man that is hard to beat. Ola made hard work of it imo. When he boxed from the outside he was in control and scoring well. If he used his feet more and refused to get into a brawl he could have made it easier for himself and possibly nicked it.

Based on recent fights, I'd say that a greater proportion of fair results are rendered in Germany than, for example, the US.

In fairness to Spencer Fearon it was his first gig commentating for BN and he came out with decent stuff at times. Give him time to improve maybe
Re: Marco Huck v Ola Afolabi
I agree; he's to learn that him being genuine and giving insight isn't the same as him talking to a mate in the street. He's intelligent and will improve with experience.
Re: Marco Huck v Ola Afolabi
For me Spencer will never cut it as a commentator I just thought he was poor.
The fight absolutely superb & the last round was something else!!

Yes, what an earth made allegedly try out a new commentator on this big night.
I loved it when he made the biggest contradiction about the scoring of one round. After Rawling repeatedly asked him not to take into account of how he thought the judges could be scoring as its in Germany.... Rawling tried a new way of getting through to Spencer - he had to say "how would Spencer Fearon score the fight".
Spencer's reply was..... well because I am boxing expert I can see that Ola isn't actually off balance, I have a trained eye, and I can see Ola is slipping the shots very well and land the better shots and doing the most work. However, to the untrained eye - Ola looks clumbsy, tired and off balance. So I am going to score the round to Huck!!!
His criticisms of the german cards was over the top. Practically every minute of every round he had to condemn German judges.
He also sounded a lot like Derek Chisora.

I thought this blogg was about Huck v Ola not Spencer Fearon come on guys lets keep to the point and stop knocking people about who tried out something new. Its just like Roy Hodgeson ... we in this country also focus on the negative. Well done OLA it was a great fightFinal round wrote:He's been reading the boxing forums too much.stujones wrote:Yes, what an earth made Allegedly channel try out a new commentator on this big night.

Sorry, it was a fantastic fight and a good performance by Ola..... just needs to work more and he would have Marco, but sadly in 2 attempts he's just fallen short in the stamina department...... not sure if he could ever get over the line against Huck.mcato wrote:I thought this blogg was about Huck v Ola not Spencer Fearon come on guys lets keep to the point and stop knocking people about who tried out something new. Just a shame my viewing pleasure of what was a great fight wasn't what it should be as the commentary was poor.
