Chisora was banned before this was announced and Haye wasn't licenced by the bbboc so I fail to see how the board "got in the way".

Are you also saying Chisora should have got away Scott free for his demented behaviour? (Granted I though Haye was the main protagonist but the board were powerless to do anything as he wasnt a member of the company".

The BBBofC shouldn't have banned Chisora indefinitely. If they had handed out a ban of 3-6 months to Chisora then this Luxembourg licence thing probably wouldn't be happening.

A 3-6 month ban would have been futile. It would not have covered the period of rest before Dels next fight. I do agree that the Board should have stipulated the actual length of the ban though. Around 18 months would have sufficed IMO.

Snap, cant wait a massive grudge match even more so after germany antics too, if this was ppv i reckon it would outdo Hayes previous fights. Cant wait for it i'll be gettin tickets, I imagine the build up willl be very entertaining too. Fwank jus tweeted that its the fastest selling show he's seen since Tyson was over. Gonna be big en this, tickets are a bit steep though

You don't need a licence from the BBBoC, or any other organisation, to promote boxing shows.
Cheers.I didn't realise that. This must then serious conotations then. If you don't need as license to promote and your fighters can all get latvian and luxembourg licences then what role will the BBBofC have to play in the future?

18 months would be far too much and would have led to the same situation we have now.

The BBBofC tried to act tough and it has backfired and it could eventually lead to their demise.

Right, so the board should have let Del off Scot free in case a fight with Haye came off? The Board would have been a bigger laughing stock than they are now but with the added bonus of being accused of being tucked tightly in FWs pocket.

Chisora didn't deserve to be punished too harshly. He was trying to hype up his fight with Vitali and hype himself in general and it worked.

Chisora is good for boxing because he is a character and he makes people interested, he shouldn't be getting long bans for trying to help boxing.

How was Chisora trying to hype the fight with Vitali? Lets be fair, did it really make PPV's numbers increase for spiting in Wlad's face with seconds before the fight?

Did it make PPV numbers increase for causing a fracas with David Haye AFTER the fight?

Derek Chisora the martar for trying the help boxing, I think I've heard it all now. He really tried to help boxing when he came in rediculously overweight for the Fury fight. He really tried to help the sport for biting on the ear.

Are the BBBoC going to sanction the other fights on the card...or is it all going to be done under the control of the LBF (including their officials etc)?

Old bones Ian wrote:How much power does the BBBoC hold nowadays? Whats stopping anyone using another boxing federation in the UK? nothing by the looks of it.
Why would a promoter pay the BBBoC a fee if they can get it cheaper elsewhere from another countries boxing board, the world bodies will still rate the boxer as they are fighting with a legitimate body.

The only thing they could do is stop someone fighting for the Lonsdale belt, but then that just robs the fans of good match-ups.

Haye v Chisora may just be a one off , but if it works why wouldn't other promoters use them or other cheaper alternatives
Cant see this being a one off myself, I think the promoter now has his own federation along with tv company and maybe even officials

I said hyping the fight and himself, those two things would apply to hyping himself and not the fight.

He isn't perfect, but at least he does things and isn't some anonymous shrinking violet that nobody cares about.

Would render their suspensions as ineffective indefinitely. Next time a fighter is suspended what would happen?

This is what I was asking, Do the Luxembourg federation have many officials.

We don't really have pro-am shows in this country, let alone what would amount to a licenced-un-licenced card. I can't see the BBBoC going for it. Would that then put all the fighters and officials who appear on the bill at odds with the BBBoC?

On a lighter note, I've heard the fight is for the vacant Luxembourg International Masters Heavyweight title....

More intrestingley, if you had a boxer/manager agreement with a promotor who had no licences, would this release all of his fighters from there contracts with the bbboc. ?

Boxing is becoming a joke. This is farcical. Haye should be ashamed of himself as should Warren. What kind of message is this sending out to youngsters who want to get involved in the sport?

Imagine if this was happening between two fighters that Warren had no vested interest in, he'd be going mad!

The Sun sponsoring it? Sauerland promoting? Disgrace. Where is this sport going? No governance at all.

Do you honestly believe if Hearn and Maloney could promote this fight they'd choose not to

I'd say the same about them had they promoted it. Hearn wouldn't have, definitely not. I won't believe it. I watched that documentary about Hearn Sr and he's the nicest promoter on earth. He really is. You can't change my mind. No, not listening.
