Kell Brook v Carson Jones 7th July?

Post by xrgcx »

This was on Dan Rafael's twitter.

I'm told that @SpecialKBrook will be facing Carson Jones on July 7 in England. Supposed to be announced Thursday by @EddieHearn.

What you guys think if true

On last nights boxing hour, Lillis said that he'd heard that Jones is being considered as a replacement for Peterson, but Bunce indicated he was confident that Jones would be Brooks next opponent.

Jones won't make the Lightwelter limit on that notice. miguel vazquez is the name being talked about to replace peterson.

Carson Jones looks not very good and a bit fragile too, another easy one for Kell.

Have called this one to be lined up for his last 2 fights, not shocked its happening thats for sure.

Jones is a solid enough test, and is ever improving himself. Kell better not underestimate him thats for sure.

Sounds like a good card.Carson Jones is a very active fighter and been in with some good names.
This is a good match up for Kell and jones can bang abit and is also ranked.
I hope Kell wins and fights Khan soon or one of the top Americans.

It seems to me from reading various forums that most british fans are fixated on numerical records and dont bother to look at the whole of Carsons career.

Carson is 33-8. He turned pro at age 18 and his career was handled horribly until he reached 6 losses. Since that time he has gone 20-2. A year ago he dropped down to 147 from 154 and higher and has knocked out 8 opponents in a row including Said Ouali, Michael Clark and Ricardo Williams.

In his career he has beaten fighters with records such as 21-0, 21-2, 19-2, 41-5, 28-3, 21-2.

Carson is coming to destroy Kell Brook and will be training like an assassin for the next 7 weeks.

Carson Jones is the toughest opponent
willing to come over and fight Kell.He is trying
to get taken seriously by the big promoters .
Who he feels overlook him in favour of lesser talented
fighters who have a following and generate revenue .
Truth is no one could make this :x guy a star regardless of
who he beats cant explain what it is that makes you not want
to see him fight win lose or draw he has a big boring mouth.
That i hope Kell smashes only because i like watching Kell .

Really decent fight IMO and it SHOULD be serving as an INF eliminator with the winner to face the Bailey/Jones winner...

He is staying busy. When I heard him being linked to fights with Ortiz and that group of guys I have to admit I laughed. Kell aint going to get those fights without a World title, and I think he could end up needing to get into a mandatory spot to get his World title so staying busy won't do him any harm at all.

The Kell Brook farce will end on July 7th. No need to worry about those other fights ever happening.

Believe it or not. You cant change it. His only hope is to survive to a bogus decision.

How is it a decent fight ? Jones has 8 loses and has been stopped a couple of times, ffs he got KOed by Alfonso Gomez
If you wanna believe in the hype and Brook is really world class ...why ent he fighting credible opponents ?
Nearly every oponent brook has fought has had 5-12 loses, and Brook has had 27 fights FFS...he ent fought one unbeaten hungry guy yet ,But sky and his nut hugging fans would have you believe that this represents him being world class

Well surely at 27 fights and being proclaimed world class by everyman and his dog ,Brook should be fighting guys from the top ten or 15 at least dont you think ?
Lets see him test himself and fight someone unbeaten or hungry for a change thats all i am sayin .

A very strong argument can be made that Jones is top 15.

I think Jones is hungry as anyone, there isn't alot of fighters that would risk a top 5 ranking and come to the other guys backyard to fight.
