The arena the fight takes place is not crucial to what the fighter gets paid.
In big fights like these TV pays purses, not crowds.
Is that it? fornicate me, don't become a Promoter or accountant my friend!
Are you Eric Cantona? Do the seagulls follow the bloody Trawlers because they are lost then or what?
Dont get excited. I dont hold a promoters licence and I am not an accountant. I am, however, a businessman, and a good one at that.boxingchat wrote:KO Atrist wrote:My valuation is not inflated it is based on fact.boxingchat wrote:Incidentally, if Hatton, who has admitted that he has approached King and Arum and others, can earn so much more. Ask yourself this, or, if you can, tell me how much money where the shows involving Hatton grossing under Sports Network? Include gate receipts, TV money and sponsorship. How much.
Lets take a typical world title show.
Then work out how big a slice each party was taking. Fighters, TV, Promoter, and operational costs.
If the fighter moves to a smaller arena, the gate receipts will reduce. But the TV money shouldnt by much, nor should operational costs alter much, they may reduce in fact. Sponsorship, on the other hand, may have increased.
That leaves the promoters share.
Assuming the above assumptions are broadly coreect, the fighters money can increase...........................
Only if the promoters slice is reduced.
Make sense?

Listen Moron. If you knew anything whatsoever about what you are talking about you would know that US fighter, in the main, earn far less than Hatton. They bring US TV Hatton US and Sky. It's people like you blowing sugar up Hatton's arse that cause this mess and more often than not ruin his career. If he would earn more in the US why have neither King Arum or HBO signed him up yet? Showtime told him to stay put and Maussa, the WBA Champion, is coming to Sheffield?nickd wrote:The top fighters in the US are earning a lot more than £1.5m per fight fighting for Arum or King. If Hatton was to fight in Vegas on HBO for one of those guys he would earn a lot more than £1.5m.
Now get back to work you gargoyle.
Think again.....

I dont know whether you are trying to rile me into revealing exactly what I know, but I know a great deal more about this business than you appear to appreciate, judging by the degenerative tone of your replies.boxingchat wrote:No not at all? Quite frankly you haven't got a fornicating clue what you are talking about.
Lets open this debate up sensibly.
How much do you think Sports Network Shows gross when Hatton is on the bill? Lets start there.
By the way, I would agree that most of Hattons US peers have earned less than Hatton did under Warren. The US promoters take more money, becuae they have to, they have massive overheads.
As does Sports Network in relation to smaller UK promoters.

Fortunately, my main business is not related to Boxing, which I am involved in on an informal basis, for fun, you see.boxingchat wrote:Answer a question with a question why don't you?
I am not professing to know the facts. The stupid and uneducated guess work is coming from your end.
And, if you were in the business, which I doubt, trust me you won't be for long!!!
How can we begin a debate about how much Hatton will earn until we know how much his shows were grossing under FW control.
Surely you would agree that we have to start there?

Ah so you admit that you do it for fun? So how do you suggest we find out thewn ask Mr Warren to divulge all his accounts on here. Highly unlikely don't you think? However, if I was a betting ma I bet you would all be surprised and that RH earns more when he fights than SN do. Nearly £7m (so I hear) for the pony fights he's been having, and ordinary people have sympathy for him. Not me, greedy little Bastard! like Ferdinand and the like - Manchester water perhaps!
I'm not keen on Mancs myself.boxingchat wrote:Ah so you admit that you do it for fun? So how do you suggest we find out thewn ask Mr Warren to divulge all his accounts on here. As SN are a public Co, I should have a set of their last accounts here somewhere.
But they dont show a breakdown of what each show takes.
You have told me how much Hatton earns from the shows, what about FW/SN? Who, I add, did a great job with Hatton. Possibly one of the best promotional jobs ever.

Why should they, do you broadcast your private business. Hatton must have agreed those purses surely so what SN/FW or whoever get is irrelevent surely. If you have their accounts surely these show what the crack is?
Personnaly, I don't give a flying F##k either way. I'm big into loyalty and the scruffy little Manc has done bloody well. The last time anyone took so much money under false pretences was the Sex Pistols 'Great Rock and Roll Swindle' Hatton should be kissing FW's arse not kicking it.
I bet his bacnk manager is an FW fan. And to think my PPV money has helped swell his coffers to nearly £7M - No more my friend, no more.

That response was not for you. This discussion is tiresome, fact is the marquee fighters in the US earn more than £1.5m fighting in Vegas - the dollar equivalent of course. Hatton can be considered a marquee fighter after beating Tszyu and could demand a lot more money from the top US promoters by fighting in Vegas on HBO.boxingchat wrote:Don't change the subject....nickd wrote:Calzaghe is not PPV rather pay per non view. People would pay good money to keep him off the television!
Or are you disputing that?
Sorry, couldnt resist it.boxingchat wrote:No way Jose!KO Atrist wrote:What, not even if JC is fighting on the same bill with Hatton?
Look, I agree that, prima facie, Hatton does owe Warren a degree of loyalty, and that he has earned well. I also agree that whilst Warren hasnt taken any punches he has obviously worked his bollocks off to build Hatton up. Warren earned his money too. He is obviously very driven and has done great things.
But if Hatton fells he is a free agent, and has been offered more money whilst gaining full control of his career, that ok isnt it?
The dispute appears to be that one feels he has a contract and the other feels he doesnt.
So they are not even at a stage where they can talk numbers.
How much do you reckon the Hatton shows where grossing under SN.

Yes, absolutely. You are dealing in hearsay.nickd wrote:That response was not for you. And you are talking shit, guys like Judah, Mayweather, Wright, Hopkins are earning more than £1.5m a fight. Hatton is on the same level as those guys after beating a guy who was in everyones top 3 P4P.boxingchat wrote:Yes, absolutely. You are dealing in hearsay.nickd wrote:That response was not for you. Granted Hatton hasn't fought in the US before, but most of the fighters mentioned above have zero fanbase. With HBO money Hatton could easily earn upwards of £2.5m a fight.

It's only relevant to the costs, so until you know those the income is neither here nor there. This is my point, Only FW knows the figures and paying RH what he has is certainly not ripping him off as has been suggested elsewhere.KO Atrist wrote:Sorry, couldnt resist it.boxingchat wrote:No way Jose!KO Atrist wrote:What, not even if JC is fighting on the same bill with Hatton?

It's the opinions of 'outysiders' with no knowledge that often drives wedges between Boxer, Manager and whoever. Then when the Boxer get's beat whose left to re-build?
