allegedly reply to Board,20,000 tickets sold
Re: allegedly reply to Board,20,000 tickets sold
The manager of Chisora has done a lot of good for boxing over the last couple of decades and has put on some top class shows . Of course there are people out there who feel that he has wronged them . Nevertheless the proposed fight on 14 July ,if it goes ahead , is the end game for him or the BBB of C . Both cannot exist in their current format afterwards .
On the one hand the man will have to either have his shows abroad , or have tournaments in this country which will be considered unlicensed by everyone else involved in the game . The alternative is for the gentleman to gather around him like minded individuals and create a second governing organisation to control boxing in this country .
Although there are people who feel that the Board has made mistakes in the past , I feel the vast majority of licence holders trust them to govern boxing to the best of their ability without fear or favour . If I'm correct the show on 14 July will collapse .
I know this is potentially a huge fight but I'm stunned that FW and those connected with them thought they could get around this .
Short term gain , for long term loss , if you ask me .

I am starting to really dislike McGuigan.Barry McGuigan wrote:"I think it is an affront to the British Boxing Board of Control to put on a fight under the Luxembourg Boxing Board's jurisdiction.
"We may end up with a nasty legal battle now. The BBBofC couldn't allow an organisation to come into their territory and put on a show without their permission.
"After the way Haye and Chisora behaved in Germany they should have served a reasonably lengthy ban. Nobody was hurt but it was shameful to the game. The fight shouldn't be allowed to happen."

He's not saying throw them out of the sport, just that they should serve a reasonably lengthy ban. I think that is a fair comment.

His Frampton related nonsense, his defence of early stoppages by referees, his comments about this issue and I just find him irritating in general.Deserter wrote:On what basis?

allegedly built his success on unlicensed boxing so it's unlikely to be something he'll be afraid of this time around.
