How good is Jorge Luis Gonzalez

I would like to know how good is former Cuban heavyweight contender Jorge Luis Gonzalez, what was his style, his strength, and weakness? I would like to know please.

i couldnt really tell you, judging by the fact that he KO his first dozen or so opponents early on, i would have to guess he was a power boxer. he lost vthe heavyweight title match to riddick bowe right>? after that it seems his career kinda floped a bit.

Phenomenal amateur and the record to prove it,almost a total flop as a pro.I say almost because he did make some money,whether he still has it I don't know.

Gonzalez talked the talk andf then talked some more. He was always on about how dangerous a man he could be; when time came to put up or shut up, he not only shut up, he fell down first

Riddick Bowe put it all over him and really exposed him for what he was...a very, very good amateur. His early record is great looking, but the caliber of competition was weak and to have had the knockouts to win ratio that he did, you would think that he would have been a little exciting to watch, but he wasn't...he was a bore to watch.

Gonzalez is a very good example of a really big heavyweight, with good coordination, who in the end, certainly showed that size does not play nearly as big a part as some people today would like to think!

I don't think JLG ever learned how to train properly for a professional match. He obviously had some skills, but I think he completely lacked focus.

I've watched some of hisfights. More notably against Bowe and Witherspoon. Jorge has no real defense to speak of, other than his immense size. He carries his left hand LOW and gets caught with rights after rights until he goes down. Even after hit with a right, the stupid slob wouldn't even try to cover up. Great example of "just because a guy is big, doesn't mean he can fight".

He trained on a six pack of beer for breakfast, did not listen to his trainer, came on as vulgar, loud and uncouth and was not even liked in Cuban Miami, where he could not draw flies. Good riddance to bad rubbish...

He had that deadly combination of being easy to hit and having a glass jaw. He was absolutely horrible.
