Re: British Top 30 P4P May 2012
Is the Horse/Hatton love affair over? You stubbornly ranked him above Kell Brook for so long and now he's a whopping 20 places below.
If Haye doesn't possess a boxing licence should he be classed as a boxer?

Same could also be considered for Dereck Chisora who has had his licence indefinately suspended.Pugilist-specialist wrote:Is the Horse/Hatton love affair over? You stubbornly ranked him above Kell Brook for so long and now he's a whopping 20 places below.

Brook beat Hatton very easily and Hatton hasn't had a good win since he beat Nuzhnenko almost 2 years ago.Pugilist-specialist wrote:Is the Horse/Hatton love affair over? You stubbornly ranked him above Kell Brook for so long and now he's a whopping 20 places below.
Hatton first entered the rankings in April 2010, in that time he has been above Brook in 13 months and Brook has been ahead of him in 13 months.
I think so.Pugilist-specialist wrote:If Haye doesn't possess a boxing licence should he be classed as a boxer?

Re: British Top 30 P4P May 2012
Why is Olusegun out? He's clearly more important to 140 than John Murray is at 135
Re: British Top 30 P4P May 2012
Hopefully that will all be sorted out soon.stujones wrote:Same could also be considered for Dereck Chisora who has had his licence indefinately suspended.
Re: British Top 30 P4P May 2012
Olusegun has been inactive for over 7 months and his record isn't strong enough for him to stay in the rankings without fighting for that long.world ranked wrote:Why is Olusegun out? He's clearly more important to 140 than John Murray is at 135
Olusegun's record isn't much better than Murray's, so I don't think Olusegun leaving the rankings before Murray is wrong.

Re: British Top 30 P4P May 2012
He's about to fight for legit world title, hasn't not be KO'ed in two recent fights. He more important to world landscape than anyone on this below 20. Hes closer to being a world champion than anyone after james Degale.Horse wrote:Olusegun has been inactive for over 7 months and his record isn't strong enough for him to stay in the rankings without fighting for that long.world ranked wrote:Why is Olusegun out? He acyually right now could be considered world class no one else under #20 can claim that other than maybe Chisora.
Re: British Top 30 P4P May 2012
His level of opposition is fairly poor for a world class fighter. Maybe if Olusegun fought better opposition he might get knocked out a few times.world ranked wrote:He's about to fight for legit world title, hasn't not be KO'ed in two recent fights. He "might get knocked out" his resume is better or similar to anyone under 20 beside Chisora. "Maybe' dont work in debates.Horse wrote:His level of opposition is fairly poor for a world class fighter. Good list, as ever.
The big question is whether you will continue to recognise anybody involved with the Haye v Chisora card after the night. I want to know where Horse stands on the BBBC v Warren debate. Maybe there will be two lists - one for boxers and one for splitters?

Re: British Top 30 P4P May 2012
You talk Murray down for getting knocked out, but he got knocked out by two opponents who are better than anyone Olusegun has faced.world ranked wrote:He "might get knocked out" his resume is better or similar to anyone under 20 beside Chisora. "Maybe' dont work in debates.
Olusegun has only fought 4 times in the last 3 years beating: Wright, Lynes, Malik and Chebah. A fighter that inactive has to fight a better level of opposition or they are going to fall out of the rankings.

Re: British Top 30 P4P May 2012
Just becuase you get stopped by better opponents doesn't make you better. Olusegun has fought within a calandar year so just like in boxrec rankings fighters stay in the rankings. So should Olusegun. There a lot of reason why fighters don't fight and a lot of times it has nothing to do with the fighter itself and especially in this case whenHorse wrote:You talk Murray down for getting knocked out, but he got knocked out by two opponents who are better than anyone Olusegun has faced.world ranked wrote:He "might get knocked out" his resume is better or similar to anyone under 20 beside Chisora. Olusegun has only fought 4 times in the last 3 years beating: Wright, Lynes, Malik and Chebah. A fighter that inactive has to fight a better level of opposition or they are going to fall out of the rankings.
Ajose has been tied up and talk about in WBC elimanator fights and title fights. His fight with Chebah was cancelled
at least 3 times and not his fault because the WBC is bascially his only way to get a meaningful he had to be played
with by the WBC.
Re: British Top 30 P4P May 2012
It doesn't make a fighter worse either like you were suggesting.world ranked wrote:Just becuase you get stopped by better opponents doesn't make you better.
The WBC/Chebah situation was farcical and Olusegun was treated unfairly. However he has still been fairly inactive and his record is still not massively impressive, so he has fallen down the rankings month by month until this month he has fallen out.world ranked wrote:Olusegun has fought within a calandar year so just like in boxrec rankings fighters stay in the rankings. Do you agree with him not being top 30 fighter in EnglandHorse wrote:It doesn't make a fighter worse either like you were suggesting.world ranked wrote:Just becuase you get stopped by better opponents doesn't make you better.

Re: British Top 30 P4P May 2012
If Olusegun was considered to be English and this was an English ranking then he would be in the top 30, but he doesn't currently qualify as a top 30 British & Irish fighter.world ranked wrote:Do you agree with the rankings Olusegun being top 30 fighter in England

Certainly not, you've ranked him far too low for far too long, but suddenly 6 places for Rogan mate, ha'way!Horse wrote:Do you think 16th position is too high for him?keithmoonhangover wrote:Fury moves up 6 for beating Rogan.I'm Fury's #1 fan, but that is complete tosh.
