Iphone app

Post by whiskey »

Just thought i'd ask what everyone would like to see on a boxing app?

Im just going through the basics of writing one now and for starters was going to have boxing news, boxing calendar, boxing on TV and most importantly was going to add a boxing timer for training which would allow you to customise round lengths, intervals and choice of bell/buzzer etc.

Any more that you can think of folks that would be interesting ?

Depends on permissions really. Obviously my little site. Plus maybe any with blessings from here, or writers of other sites. It could be uploaded by the author themselves as they have written it. It wouldn't point to their site though, as the content is often not very compatible with mobi browsers like safari mobile etc. So would need to be cut and pasted in.

Nothing would be set in stone, it can be flexible with things added and changed as people liked it.

Good idea....In terms of expectation, it would largely depend on the price. If it was free, than anything is better than nowt, the more it cost, the more you would expect in terms of quality and content. Do you know your price intentions yet?

Still working it out mate. Some bits i can do, other bits I cant. Plus floating it onto the itunes / applications site etc all needs inside knowledge.

I think the minimum is about 59p you can sell anything for.

It would be pukka though. I wouldnt put something out there i wouldn't use / like myself.

For the benefit of your research, at that price, I'd be willing to buy it and roll with it as it improves with updates. Might be worth also looking into doing a free version and adding sponsorship ads. Nearly every app seems to have a free/lite version which is funded by the ads, with the aim of attracting people to upgrading to the paid app (without ads).

Embrace the Apple and never look back my son :OhYes:

Great idea! to make it work; i think ads will be unavoidable. :(
Any early mistakes, glitches will be forgiven if you correct them with updates on a regular basis.
I think listening to your feedback;and responding will be top priority, structure and content will come in time and do plenty of research. :bag:

I tunes is crying out for a good boxing app. :box: Good luck. :TU:

Oh and remember when it comes to mobile web design and layout less is most defiantly more!

Hope this helps

Could we at least have a mobile version of the site?

Sounds like a good idea mate, I put my first boxing app together last year, it's a hard slog but worth it in the end. If you get stuck or anything let me know I'll try and help out. :TU:
