What absolute fkking nonsense and what a fkking pointless puritanical stance to take.

You get one life. You became a boxing fan.

Two heavyweights of equal weight and age who hate each other and have a reputation for the unexpected are going to fight in the UK, on telly at a normal hour on a Saturday night.

Get a fkking grip of yourself, you'll be watching.
I won't be watching because it would mean handing over money to someone who is doing his best to wreck the structure of boxing in this country for his own greedy ends. The alternative to subscribing to B O X nation is to actually go to Upton Park. As this fight has been marketed to appeal to the lowest common denominator, I expect the biggest gathering of knobheads in sporting history and potential for scenes in the crowd that will make Munich look like a tea party.

You say that both fighters have a reputation for the unexpected. Haye was an undisputed champ and one of the most exciting fighters in world boxing. Since moving to Heavyweight, he has back pedalled and, bar the last thirty seconds of the Valuev fight, offered zero entertainment in big fights. The only unexpected thing he has done is the toe excuse- nobody saw that coming.

Chisora's unexpcted behaviour is stuff like spitting in people's faces and threatening to physically shoot people with a gun. This time around, the fences etc are encouraging him to act crazier that ever. By fight night, you have as much chance of him sitting in the back of his Del Boy van rolling in his own faeces and setting light to tenners as you do of him putting up a good performance.

I admit, I may be end up watching a stream- in the same way you find yourself looking at a car crash of falling for the delights of Babestation late at night, but I will not feel good about it afterwards and I certainly won't kick in a penny towards it.

I went to the Mitchell fight there last time and its pretty much what you said lol

Plus, we had floor seats and a massive group of above mentioned types stood up on their chairs for the whole fight, no one behind could see owt, and i didn;t fancy taking on what looked like the ICF's finest to be honest.

I'll watch the fight on telly though for sure

Unfortunately, highly publicised fights in Britain attract a moronic element. Hatton was extremely popular but it stands to reason he benefited from a lot of people attending his fights in order to later tell mates down the pub 'yeah I was there for that fight, got right on it' etc as opposed to going to watch the actual boxing on display.

For the main part of these bills, the majority of punters are at the bar when the undercard is taking place. It's like football fans standing at the pie stand waiting for the 75th minute when Rooney comes on as sub before strolling out to watch the game!

I won’t attend. I’ll probably watch it depending on how the rest of the bill shapes up, but it isn’t a puritanical stance to take as there has to be a point where people say ‘Enough is enough’ and this is as good a point as any. The titles splintered almost immediately and there has always been chaos there. Then the champions stopped fighting each other on a regular basis and turned their rare meetings into stop the world “events” that usually turn out to be boring. Now we’re expected to sit tight for what will be the dry run of a rival domestic Board? I think I’ll skip it.

Yes, Germany and the US, amongst others, have more than one governing body, but the Germany situation is down to a power struggle between promoters and TV and in the US there are states that would sanction a fight between the two halves of a Siamese twin. It is a step too far in my opinion and for what? A domestic money spinner between a second and third-tier heavy, one of them with a recent history of being in dull fights and the other sometimes cannot be bothered getting into shape. I’d understand if we were prepared to shift the sands to make Mayweather Vs Manny, but this is sold purely on the Munich incident and what did we get then? One punch, a load of hugging and an inconclusive ending. That doesn’t bode well.
Terence - have you done an article on this? Would be top notch. I just haven't got f**king time to be this incisive.

Bought six tickets yesterday. Was charged £6 per ticket admin and another £6 for postage...that's scandalous.

A couple of my mates are bringing their ladies...from what I'm hearing that's probably not the best move on their part.
I assume I need to kit myself out in some pwopa nawty gear and ponce around like I'm a gangster?

"What are you looking at you mappet?" What d'ya reckon? Will I fit in?

Does it clash with 'The Voice' though?

If people want to take a stance, that's up to them. Takes all sorts. Some people, for example, might not want to put money into certain people's pockets on a point of principle (and I'm not just talking about FW).
I'm more willing to put money in Chisora's pocket than Haye's, which will strike some as peverse but hey-ho/. Of course its up to them but without wishing aren't we guilty of over-complicating this whole thing. If Haye and Chisora didn't clash in Munich but this fight was made, would you watch? Did you watch Mike Tyson after he bit Holyfield's ear and bit Lewis' leg?

Or is this more about sanctioning issues and the motivators for the steps taken to bypass the BBBofC.

If it is the later than I recognise your personal history with those making those steps.

I'd rather my heavies lived and acted like Lennox or Henry, like everyone, but for all their flaws Haye v Chisora is a fun, interesting fight.

Would we prefer Chisora v Helenius II and Haye v Arreola? Maybe you would.

So you're watching the fight? Exactly, for all the politics, its just an interesting heavyweight fight between two guys born in the 1980's, which makes a change from the 1960's and early 1970's.

So you'll end up watching it on a stream.

So politics aside, its an interesting fight?

I don't believe 1% of those with their mock-indignation will actually observe their self-imposed ban.

Imagine when approached by casual fans at work on Monday - did you see the Haye v Chisora fight mate? Noh, I disagreed with it morally, ethically and observed a silence in memory of Charles Giles and all the work he's done for KLM and British Airways.

Oh, but I thought you liked boxing.

I do, just only when regulated by BBBofC and promoted by promoters I like.

Why?

Oh you wouldn't understand?

It was a great fight!

I'm pleased for you, I watched a re-run of Howard Eastman v Gary Beardsley to relive those halcyon days when boxing was on terrestrial and a good promoter was in charge.

Was he related to Peter?

I don't support the 'event' (as distinguished from the 'fight') because it is a load of bollocks, in my opinion.

"If it is the later than I recognise your personal history with those making those steps." What's that supposed to mean? I'd be saying the same if Maloney or whoever was doing it. I'm presuming there are actually some people out there who don't share your opinion who have no relevant 'personal history'.

Not quite to this extent in terms of its ferocity but I would agree with this.

It irks me a little bit how as Boxing fans we can sometimes act all virtuous and seem to be really offended by what we perceive as 'bad behaviour' as if we have all of a sudden become prudish

seems a decent enough fight, probably on a par with fury v rogan without all the extra shenanigans.

perhaps rather silly that people moan about the sanctioning bodies dancing to their own tune and then ignore the fact that the BBBoC stood in the way of this, natural, fight. they didn't ban chisora (when they should have) and haye needs redemption after his wlad surrender, so i'll be watching for sure.

those taking the moral high ground can get ready for david price's next fight v an anonymous euro bum (not his fault, but there you go) with the baby oil and tissues on hand.

i want to watch a good old fashioned scrap.

Unless I've missed it, nobody on this entire topic has stated that they aren't going to watch the fight?
To a certain extent then, why all the hysteria?

I don't like the gruesome use of violence in films, it harms the young, so I'm not going to pay for Expendables II, I'll watch it on a illegal download or borrow the DVD off a mate.

I think many casual fans wont pay for Haye again. The only way they pay is if it kicks off at press conference on weigh inn.
