What I like about the IBO

Post by Grant »

I was just on their site and noticed Ruiz who is fighting Will tomorrow night is rated 50 in their rankings. Way below the boxrec rating.

What is this? an organisation not fudging their ratings ?

A step in the right direction IMO

Have you seen who they regard as their SFW, LW,WW and SMW Champions?

Most definately not a step in the right direction. Sorry.

I thought you would appreciate one of your lot being given a chance at their vacant lightweight title, and losing to an Italian.

I think the IBO is a step in the right direction, except for the fact that they will seemingly allow anyone to fight for their world titles. Their rankings are based on points and better than any of the rankings from the big 4.

They were aked about this one time and they said the title goes to the highest ranking fighters who wants to fight for it so if thats ranks 50 its rank 50 or rank 3 and 102 they will fight for the title

It's not a step in the right direction that a fighter ranked 50th is in a world title bout though.

IBO world champions and title challengers are generally of lower quality than their WBA/WBA/WBO/IBF counterparts.

I said 'generally.'

It's also rare for an elite fighter to hold only an IBO belt, yet many hold only an IBF, WBC, WBO, or WBA title.

Maybe we could start a rumour about the Klitschko brothers that will provoke them into forgetting their promise to their mother and fight each other. Failing that it will be a while before a single Heavyweight Champion will happen.

Tell one of them there mother never loved them............depends what kind of relationship you have with your brother I suppose and both guys have made alot of $$ already so might not be appealing but I know if it was me and my bro and there was TONS of $$$ to be made from a fight between the 2 of us we'd go at it.......I could live with people saying he was better than me if i lost!! However it coudl easily effect relationships for life, maybe they decided its not worth 1. Breaking there promise to there mother and 2. possibly ruining the relationship they have for life! Cant blame them for that.

But think how BIG the fight would be the TWO best heavyweights Currently Both Brothers fightsing each other

Vitali Klitschko VS Wladimir Klitschko Unified WORLD Heavyweight Championship!! DAMN!!!

Ain't gonna happen. :KO:

Only way it could happen in the short run would be in the unlikely event of 40 year old Tony Thompson beating Wlad then fighting Vitaly. Most punters would not take any odds on that happening.

Incorrect with your numbers there - 1-35 is automatic sanction. 36-50 can get an exemption as long as with a victory they will be inside the 35
