Jimmy Young Vs George Chuvola. What If?

Post by KOJOE90 »

Who do you think would have won between top 70's contender Jimmy Young and top 60's contender George Chuvola if they could have fought each other in their respective primes?

Jimmy Young was a highly skilled, defencive fighter and as cute and tricky as any Heavyweight of any era. He lacked power at the highest level but had enough power, accuracy and snap in his shots to earn his opponents respect.

George Chuvola was a iron chinned, bull-strong fighter who could at time be brutal with his body shots and had an underated jab.

Who wins fight fans? :box:

Jimmy Young.

I say Jimmy Young winning by unanimous decision in a boring fight.

i dunno i think george has too strong of a chin to be KO'd and i think he could take out jimmy ryan by Ko if he was able to land a nice shot in there, if not ill take chuvalo in 15, i really think he is underrated.

Not sure what Jimmy Ryan (whoever that was) has to do with anything, but I think Young by decision in a boring fight sounds about right.

Chuvalo would win going away by UD or he'd stop Young. It was Chuvalo that originally drew the blue print on how to beat Ali- pressure- but he didn't have the fire power to get it done. With Young it would be a different story as Young was far short of Ali and would not be able to keep cHUVALO OFF OF HIM.

Young is too fast and to evasive and did not come to mix it up the way George did. He would just pile up the points and we would all be asleep when they raised Jimmy's hand with decision victory.

And Hey Rory be careful your starting to go Walter Middy on us.

No disrespect to Chuvola but I think Jimmy Young would be too quick and tricky for him.

Chuvola would keep marching forward ignoring Youngs punches, but those punches would be scoring ones. Chuvola may at times trap Young on the ropes and score well to the body but I think Young would slip & slide out of any major harm.

Young wins on points.

Joe you are the king of who cares mythical match ups. This is your worst yet.

Some of these guys think Chuvalo could stop Young. Except Foreman, Shavers, and Lyle all failed to stop him but Chuvalo who couldnt even punch is going to knock him out

Kojoe, if you need someone to put together a far more pitiful theoretical than this, just call on me. Then by comparison you can regain some luster in Overights opinion and he can gnaw on someone else for a while and you can get a break. However I hope my Byrd- Young scenario I am about to post does not draw too much fire.

Please do, I feel so ashamed and in real need of help to gain Overhands love and support.

I can't believe I have let him down so badly.

I am not worthy.
