Garcia struggled with Morales. He'll get slaughtered by Khan in my opinion.

Amir Khan is set to fight WBC light-welterweight champion Danny Garcia in Las Vegas on 14 Jul 12. How will this one go, if it goes?

Cracking fight, since winning the world title Khan has been a rather inconsistent performer, just as you are about to think he has matured into a fantastic little boxer with speed and power in spades he puts in a poor performance. You have to look at how Maidana struggled with a shot Morales and Alexander to really question how Khan was run so close against the Argie.

However, in Garcia you have a fighter who is equally inconsistent, scraping past Ashley Theophane doesn't look so good now given Ashley's form in the UK of late. Khan has stood up to bigger punchers and he has fought better boxers, but he has also looked poor against worst boxers.

Without much conviction I would think Khan will be too quick and win fairly comfortably on points.

Talk of getting David price on this bill aswell, hope that happens.

Haven't seen any of Garcia's fight other than the Throphane one a couple of years back. He looked like a sitting duck for right hand counters in that one, but I'm sure he has improved since.

The fight may not be as 'final' as it appears. According to Garcia (via BBC Sport), unless Khan gets at least one of his titles back (via appeal to WBA and IBF to have the Peterson fight declared a NC), the fight with Khan cannot happen. Garcia apparently needs to oblige Olusegun as his mandatory (finally!). Only a unification fight can take precedence....Khan therefore needs a title.

....however I'm sure a quiet word with Jose can smooth things over....and leave Ajose to continue waiting for his shot.

Garcia is pretty much a poor man's Khan, talentwise, and doesn't have the physicality of (say) a Peterson to really take the fight to Khan and back him up.

He fought nobody on the way up bar Prescott, and the only live, world-level bodies he has taken on are Maidana and Peterson, and those performances say it all, don't they? It's pretty clear what we have in Amir Khan.

i would disagree to some extent with your statement, i would include Paulie Malignaggi esspecially now he has a title belt at welter and graham earl gave michael katsidis hell the fight before and katsidis was considered world class at that time but other than those 2 i agree with you

A bit harsh not to call Maligaggi not a live world level fighter given his exploits in the Ukraine. He's arguably as if not more live than Maidana. Zab Judah was also the world champion when Khan smashed him and just won an eliminator. If we are being honest, had Judah fought Peterson in the summer of 2011, most experts would have picked Judah.

Kotelnik beat Maidana and some say should have got the not against Alexander (who beat Maidana).... how can he not be a world level, live body, and Maidana is?

How come now Peterson is considered one of Khan's better opponent, before the fight he lost every round to Bradley and it was considered a mis match. Yes, Peterson did very well but a better resume and form than Judah going into their bouts with Khan, I would say not.

I think you can either declare that Khan has fought 5 world level, live fighters or none.... Malignaggi, Judah and Kotelnik are as good (at the time they fought Khan) as Maidana and Peterson. Three of these Khan looked brilliant in, two of these he looked poor.

So you would consider Graham Earl as world level, but not Judah (who has just won an eliminator again) and Kotelnik (who beat Maidana and ran Alexander close since) as not world level?

garcia doesnt have much on his record bar a points win over holt. i think morales picked him as an oppnent thinking he was one of the weaker options and its hard to tell still . the fact he went the distance with both morales and holt would suggest hes no mug and is not as easy to hit cleanly as he looks, cos both can bang. I would imagine khan will be his toughest opponent to date .if he can avoid the early khan onslaught he may cause khan problems later in the fight.

If Bradley steps back down to light welter after he loses to PAC man I'd like to see that fight happen at light welter.

Olusegun will fight for interim title. If winner moves up (ie if Khan wins), Olusegun will be promoted to full champion
