Is Froch-Bute showing in Spain?

Post by johnswan1 »

Wondering if any expats could help out - I'm on a stag in Madrid this weekend and wondering whether any TV channels over there will be showing this?

Cheers.

I,m not sure, but the only way you can wtach this is going to a pub who has sky and see the fight there. In Spain there's no TV SHOWING LIVE BOXING

Is it difficult to find a pub with Sky, and do you know any in Central Madrid?

Should be easy to find one mate, there's bound to be a British pub somewhere, and they will almost always have Sky to attract Brits :TU:

I lived in Madrid for three months in 2007 and there are at least two places I can think of where you could watch it on Sky. One of them is right at the Metro stop "Tribunal". It is very central and the underground network in Madrid is second to none. You could just pop on a Metro to "Tribunal" and the pub is right by the Metro station. If you ask, they might well put it on as they have a number of different TVs.

Molly Malone's is another one where they have SkySports. http://www.google.co.uk/maps?q=&layer=c ... cQnwIoADAA
If you get the Metro to "Bilbao" also not far from the town centre, it's only a short walk.

Below is a link to other Irish pubs in Madrid, but I would urge caution as a lot of the Irish pubs there are only geared towards locals. By this I mean that they have the place decked out in the style of an Irish pub, but they don't show the British sports channels. Some of the links on the page below purporting to be the website of the pubs listed are plainly wrong as well, so it's worth double checking if you choose one from that list.

There are also a couple of places, whose names I don't remember, near Puerta del Sol, which is slap bang in the middle of Madrid. The pubs are in some of the backstreets. Check out Google maps for more details, but both of those places. showed British sports.

Madrid is a different ball game to The Costa Del Sol where almost all the bars have Sky.

I think Irish Pubs have sky sports, near La Puerta del Sol there's a lot of them. Near Tribunal metro station, there is a Pub that show this kind of events, like six nations matches, premier league, etc.
