I think Bute will be too slick for Carl, whose best and only chance I think, will be to catch the Romanian with a massive shot and stop him, or draw him in to a war. But I think Bute will be too canny and play it safe, as surely he knows how tough Froch is. Bute UD

Frustrating Froch performance again I think and will lose on points. Hometown so will be closer than the scores should be. Carl looks clumsy, flat footed and awkward in this. Byte to quick and busy plus a southpaw.

Frochs heart and will allow him to see the final bell but the writing will be on the wall from around the 4th when it's apparent he's not throwing or landing enough and getting caught by the taller and faster Bute.

Great fight but I think Bute is going to take a close unanimous decision.

I'm picking Bute by a late stoppage (RD 10). Carl is so wide open. His defence is pretty poor. I think he'll keep his gloves up and box well for the first couple of rounds. Then old habits will die hard and his gloves will slowly drop and he'll be back in his usual wide open stance.

Bute on points; Froch cannot deal with awkward, constantly moving Southpaws.

The blueprint to beat Froch well was started by Dirrell (close fight), carried through by Ward and will be solidified by Bute.

Bute on points much like Ward. He wont want to be dragged into a fight with Froch and I think he will keep him out of range most of the night.

Can't understand people tipping Froch to win by KO. He can't punch at world level. Has he even dropped anyone in his last 8-10 fights?

I like Froch's attitude but he hasn't got the skills or power to trouble Bute.

Bute to win by wide UD.

I find it a sad state of affairs when we are willing to admit that the decision will be biased towards Froch because the fight is taking place in Nottingham. If there is a rematch then, of course, it will take place in Bute's territory but I do find it a real shame that this bias exists.

It's existed for as long as I have followed the sport. You go to a fighter hometown and anything that is very close will go to him usually.

I think Bute wins on points in a close fight but not ruling Froch by KO. Some say he is not a puncher at world level but what's to say you have to be to stop Bute? That's one of the question marks still outstanding against Lucien.

If Lucien does win I admit I will be happy for him. Seems like he could well be the nicest guy in the sport.

!

its one of the things that made me think Bute would win from the moment the fight was announced- he and his team must be very confident they have Froch's measure.....

although i didn't post it on here, i hold my hands up to being in the bute to win on points camp

kessler is the fight i'd love to see

it would be a meeting of two 3x world super middle weight champions

that can't have happened too often..........surely

i reckon froch wins it this time round.

as for a rematch of tonights fight, if bute will want anything to do with the rematch in canada, good on him, i'd like to see that again aswell

after those, if they happen and if froch is still champion, there can only be one fight and that'd be the ward rematch. realistically, there'd be no-one else in the division for either man
as much as i've been guilty of under-estimating carl on this occasion i just can't see a way of him getting to ward. but i'm sure theres something burning inside froch to give that one last shot

Hats off to Froch. Bute wasn't anywhere near tough enough to hang with Froch. A great performance.
