Re: Froch/Bute plus undercard results *spoilers*
Pavlik would also be a fantastic matchup, he's a massive name and also someone I think Froch can beat.
Re: Froch/Bute plus undercard results *spoilers*
Kessler has his own agenda also. I disagree with what Watt said about Froch being the money man in the devision..... remember showtime rejected this fight!
As much as Froch thinks there is unfinished business with Kessler, Mikkel feels there is unfinished business with Ward.
Degale / Groves - yes decent UK fights which will be tough to make. Can you really see Froch fighting on allegedly - can you see allegedly wanting Eddie to call the shots in these fights?
Kelly Pavlik? I think he needs a few more comeback fights first - has he completely got over his demons. I don't want to see him a world title fight against anyone yet. I think US TV will aim to get Pavlik vs Taylor 3 in a cross roads fight.
Stevenson? Comeback fight for Bute maybe but no where near ready for Froch.

It would make Froch some money, but it isn't a good matchup currently. Pavlik has been living off the Taylor fights for sometime now and needs a few wins at top ten level at Super Middleweight first.TheCobra wrote:Pavlik would also be a fantastic matchup, he's a massive name and also someone I think Froch can beat.
Re: Froch/Bute plus undercard results *spoilers*
Yeh am just thinking about timings for Froch's next fight, let's say 6 months = November time, can't see it being too nice in the City Ground at night at that time of year! The Dark Destroyer wrote:The City Ground could hold it, surely?TheCobra wrote:Kessler rematch would be a biggy. Ward rematch I don't want it, don't think the public should want it either, styles make fights and I want to see Froch in proper fights. So for me it's Kessler, in Nottingham, a shame Nottingham hasn't got a bigger indoor arena really they'll have to build another tier!
Re: Froch/Bute plus undercard results *spoilers*
I honestly don't think Bute will ever be the same force again especially after a sustained beating like that and Stevenson is probably the last guy you'd want to get chin checked by.stujones wrote:

Re: Froch/Bute plus undercard results *spoilers*
Agree, but I fear it will be a bit of a Harrison vs Haye situation. Hyped beyond belief by Sky, when Froch wins comfortably..... instead of hailing Froch the experts will be "well, in hindsight Pavlik wasn't fit enough to fight for a world title".The Dark Destroyer wrote:I agree, but he brings somewhat decent coverage and money.stujones wrote:It would make Froch some money, but it isn't a good matchup currently. Re: Froch/Bute plus undercard results *spoilers*
Nor me - I just think Stevenson needs top ten action before contemplating a fight with Froch.... let him go to Germany and take out Steiglitz, then maybe a fight with Froch could be worth something. At the moment he is a dangerous puncher, who has fought no-one.exittored wrote:I honestly don't think Bute will ever be the same force again especially after a sustained beating like that and Stevenson is probably the last guy you'd want to get chin checked by.stujones wrote:

To be fair showtime had one fight remaining on their contract with both Bute and Ward so wanted to save it for a big match up between them.stujones wrote:Kessler has his own agenda also. Obviously they're fucked now unless Bute rematches with Froch.
Re: Froch/Bute plus undercard results *spoilers*
Can't believe that after investing in the Super 6, Showtime didn't then show a fight between 2 of the top 4 guys in the division. Their stupidity and definitely now their loss given the action/drama.exittored wrote:To be fair showtime had one fight remaining on their contract with both Bute and Ward so wanted to save it for a big match up between them.stujones wrote:Kessler has his own agenda also. Re: Froch/Bute plus undercard results *spoilers*
Having attended tonights fight i must say it was appallingly bad in comparison to the shows hennessy did for froch in nottingham .
the undercard was very uncompetitive in the main , amost to the point of why bother , and then a young lad whos 3-0 called Leigh wood sells 250 tickets to find out a 9:30pm that hes not got a fight , there was no atmosphere in comparison to previous froch fights , i felt embarassed that the Bute fans could be heard so easilly, lack of enough local boxers to keep the crowd interested and the venue seemes nowhere near as full as it normally is , its normally feeling so cramped that you feel a sporting disaster on the scale of hilsborough could occur , but tonight it seemed empty in comparison
all in all the froch win papers over the cracks , i genuinely feel i wasted my money going , and i only got the cheap seats , would have been no worse to watch at home .
Note to Matchroom , More local talent in meanigful fights on the undercard, rather than your stable in routine bouts , id say the show was cinsiderably lower value than any froch fight under hennessy from the past .

Oosthuizen is a possibility. Unbeaten, tall (6'4") , rangy, a sturdy fighter.stujones wrote:With Kessler and Ward moving up - not many. The Dark Destroyer wrote:There are big nights at 168 yet.keithmoonhangover wrote:Light Heavy is a bad move for Carl.

The one thing you could always count on with Hennessy is good undercard fights but so far Hearn puts all his eggs into the main event and leaves the rest of the card empty of any drama.damianhucker1 wrote:Having attended tonights fight i must say it was appallingly bad in comparison to the shows hennessy did for froch in nottingham .

An outside possibility is Bernard Hopkins, he could probably still make 168 lbs and am sure would be interested in picking up a belt at 168 lbs plus fancy his chances against a pretty straight forward guy like Froch.Brute wrote:Oosthuizen is a possibility. whilst i still stand by what i said about undercard being poor ill just point out that when i wrote that i was out of my head
It wasnt a waste of money as i witnessed Froch secure his Legacy as a british boxing great , but Matchroom reall need to put more effort into the undercard , in the past weve had more local boxers that keep the atmosphere high as the crowd get behind them .
Ochieng vs Lowe i missed all but the last 3 rounds queing for the loo
Re: Froch/Bute plus undercard results *spoilers*
To be fair, there are the odd fights like this, where they've obviously spent a shedload getting Bute to come over and had very little budget left for anything else. I would say, enjoy it for the main event, it was the man Froch wanted to fight, they got it in England, the money must surely have been big to get Bute out of his cave. I wished I had been there you moaning f**ker haha!damianhucker1 wrote:exittored wrote:The one thing you could always count on with Hennessy is good undercard fights but so far Hearn puts all his eggs into the main event and leaves the rest of the card empty of any drama.damianhucker1 wrote:Having attended tonights fight i must say it was appallingly bad in comparison to the shows hennessy did for froch in nottingham .

40-35 Froch. The undercard was always going to be abit of a dissapointment cos they had to pay a very good wedge to get Bute to come over here in the 1st place.
Re: Froch/Bute plus undercard results *spoilers*
1st rd definately for BUTE 10-9fightscorecollector wrote:how did you all have the fight at the time of stoppage , i had it 40-36 froch
2nd rd close but i gave Froch 10-9
3rd big for Froch and i made it a 10-8
4th big for Froch as he did everything but KO bute so again 10-8
39-35 Froch.
