Audley asks to be made Price's mandatory
Re: Audley asks to be made Price's mandatory
It seems quite ironic that on the day a true warrior of World Boxing has passed, Audley is still talking the talk.
No he doesn't deserve it - far too inactive. Place him in with Skelton in an eliminator fight.

Harrison v Skelton ....... please spare us that spectacle.
Re: Audley asks to be made Price's mandatory
I actually think it's an acceptable fight.
Re: Audley asks to be made Price's mandatory
I wouldn't put Audley in with McDermott - and we know what Price did to him.johnswan1 wrote:I actually think it's an acceptable fight.
To be honest, if I were FM then I would try to make this match (Audley is still a "name" and he certainly talks a good fight).

Injured again?
That'll be another comeback in 2014 then.

Re: Audley asks to be made Price's mandatory
Simple answer; no!
Harrison has a blotted his copybook & has to earn his way to a Price fight.
I sometimes think that Harrison is still dining out on his Olympic gold from a dozen years ago.
He seems to think that we have forgotten his professional career date & with the exception of a couple of spectacular moments, has been completely abject.
Re: Audley asks to be made Price's mandatory
No he definitely does not. He got a world title fight on name alone, don't let him pull the trick again. A lone win against some mouthy journeyman does not get you a shot at the British title. Have him fight Skelton as said, if he wins that then maybe.
Re: Audley asks to be made Price's mandatory
Np he doesnt but it would be a name and a defnce of the brit belt for david if it happens
Re: Audley asks to be made Price's mandatory
We need to get away from this "name" opponent when it comes to Audley. It makes for some absolutely dreadful matches. We had to put up with the shambles of Haye-Audley and it is because AH is known in this country all it did was make money for the people involved and did absolutely nothing for the sport or the fans. If anything the fight tarnished the sport and made it that more of a circus.
Audley has had his chances and blown them. Winning streaks should be rewarded with title shots and you shouldn't get one because you won a medal over a decade ago and have a tendency to talk better than you ply your trade.

Harrison is better of going for a comedy fight on CH5 with Fury, if he wins that (wouldn't surprise me either) THEN he can start targeting Price.

Price is below Fury though in every rankings out there. Not sure how going through Fury to get to Price works!

Why don't you want to see it? It's definately a fight that I think needed to happen back when the 2 of them were more in their primes, but I think both have deteriorated equally meaning the winner of a fight now would be the winner of the fight that was meant to happen in December 06.Palimpsest wrote:ANYONE except Skelton please.MachoMan09 wrote:Harrison versus Price or -Fury are both acceptable matches.
I think personally it is the fight to make. Skelton will come at Audley, so we will either see Audley go into a shell, but ship punishment and lose, or we will see Audley counterpunch and land on Skelton. I aint saying it would be the second coming of Ali v Frazier 3 but I don't think it would be the worst fight ever. Then the winner of that could call out Fury and Price. Price I hope will fight on the Khan bill.

Re: Audley asks to be made Price's mandatory
Being as objective as I can James I utterly detest Skelton: I don't like his 'style', I don't like his Simian grunts, I don't like his hairy back, I don't like his huge spherical head, I don't like how many hours I've wasted and evenings he's ruined watching his sweaty, grunting, mauls. I was chuffed to bits a few years ago when he started getting chinned on a regular basis and I hoped he'd disappear for good. I don't want to see the man in a fight of any significance again, with any luck he takes another overseas job against a prospect, suffers another inside distant defeat and is never seen in a ring again.jameswilson wrote:Why don't you want to see it? Sam Sexton would beat Audley.
Re: Audley asks to be made Price's mandatory
I think Harrison should have to beat Skelton in a final eliminator before he can become the mandatory challenger.
However, I think he is clearly good enough for Price to defend against in a voluntary defence and I think that Price should be jumping at the chance to fight him.

Harrison would still be a legitimate fight for Either Price or Fury , and would be maybe even in with a chance of causing an upset against fury .

Re: Audley asks to be made Price's mandatory
I think it would be an interesting fight for Price. He would be in with a guy that matched him for size, power and reach, plus the southpaw stance. I think Audley would ask some questions of Price's chin too. Audley rarely makes for an exciting fight, but I think this would be a good learning fight for Price.
