Jeff Lacy vs Carl Froch

Post by big train express »

lacy in his prime vs current froch?

i feel like froch is a good stylistic match up for lacy: two come forward fighters with heavy hands and limited skills.

i fancy froch by close UD.

I think this would be a rough fight early on because Lacy was a brute and could body Froch around a bit but after about the 6th I could see Froch taking over with his timing and more precise punching taking over and causing a stoppage around the 11th.

I think froch would batter him, maybe not quite as decisevely as Calzaghe but still very clear. Lacy proved to basically be the child of an unholy union between a heavybag and a one armed bandit.
Could take a lick though.

It is too bad that Jeff Lacy, a fighter with a fine left-hook and plenty of heart, never really learned the needed skills to compete against the best fighters. Hope that he has saved enough money for a decent retirement after taking some bad beatings during his career.

I expect with this one Carl Froch would fight Jeff Lacy in a manner similar to the way he fought Arthur Abraham in Super Six when he regained his WBC title that lost to Kessler by simply stand tall working off his left jab doubling and trippling it up and digging regularly to the body and stepping to Lacy's right to avoid getting caught by Lacy's left hook to take a wide points decision.

Left hook Lacy just too much power. Froch take enough damage in first 5 rounds to slow him down enough for Jeff to lean and tie up toward end. Froch would take several of the late rounds. Lacy by close but ud.
