So this is why Geale couldn't get a shot. Just hope the winner from this fights the winner from Strum vs Geale.

Geale is fighting Sturm, Golovkin is fighting Pirog.

It seems the winners will fight each other.

Golovkin holds a stoppage win over Geale in the AM'S, and i've seen Geale questioned on whether he would want redemption, he responded with it wasn't a priority.

Interesting comment. Unusual for a fighter not to at least claim he wants to even the score.

I saw on that list that Golovkin beat Bute and Dirrell as an amateur. Did not see Geale on that list.

Was it in the juniors?

There is talk that the WBO is jacking up on their belt being on the line in the Golovkin Pirog fight.

Farce!

Agree, but boxers rarely do that unless they have a backup plan to grab a different bauble. $$$$$

Pirog's backup plan would be to win Golovkin's 2 titles off him. If he lost and the WBO had included their title he would have lost it to Golovkin anyway.

Yeah, you are right. So, thankfully, the WBO belt is irrelevant if he is thinking positive. So, has he told them to shove it, or is there still a few more dollars for him if they can bill it as a "unification" bout?
