Post by donnellon »

- Zou Shiming (CHN)-Still the man to beat, the Worlds top amature boxer.
-Shin Jong-Hun (KOR)-New kid on the block, will the Olympics come too soon?
-Birzhan Zhakipov-Kaz)-long time number two but won’t improve at this stage.
-Mark Barriga (PHI)-Beat Barnes and recently Ayrapetyan, young, improving, the dark horse.
-Pürevdorjiin Serdamba (MGL)-Former World champ, might be slipping slightly
-Paddy Barnes (IRL)-Regaining form and at his best, the top non-Asian.
-David Ayrapetyan (RUS)-Always in the shake up but not good enough to win it all.
-Kaew Pongprayoon (THA)-Improving rapidly also and beat Euro champ Alizade handly at the Worlds.
-Yosvany Veitia (CUB) Beat Zhakipov but ko’d by Serdamba.
-Devendro Singh (IND)-Young talent and will surprise some.
-Jantony Ortíz (PUR)-Young star, one to watch.
-Manuel Cappai (ITA)- Wins over Flissi and Quipo so no mug.
-Carlos Quipo (ECU- good fighter, has defeated Veitia and Pehlivan
-José de la Nieve (ESP)-consistent but perhaps not good enough.
-Jérémy Beccu (FRA)-Good fighter but not good enough to take this.
-Mohamed Flissi (ALG)-Improving fast reversed decision with Essomba and will shock somebody.
-Ferhat Pehlivan (TUR)-Won’t have home-town judges in London and he needs them.
-Thomas Essomba (CMR)-Solid performer but will hardly medal.
-Aleksandar Aleksandrov (BUL)-Good solid fighter but wont be winning it.
-Abdelali Daraa (MAR)-Useful but wont trouble the top boys.
- Sulemanu Tetteh (GHA)-Ran Flissi close so he must be middling.
-Carlos Suarez (TRI)-out of his depth at this level
-Juliano Máquina (MOZ)-Did well to get here
-Ramy Helmy (EGY)-Won’t be competitive in London.
-Billy Ward (Aus)- Just hasn’t the experience.

That's really useful. Cheers, Donnellan. Will you be doing one for each weight?

Nice to see Suarez make it. US can root for a 108 pounder now. Though it's going to be super tough to advance in this bracket, great job by the Ohio kid.
