The return of John Murray?
The return of John Murray?
Anyone got any updates on what Murray is up to?? Has there been any mooted dates for a comeback.
It's been 6 months since his spirited losing effort against Rios. Who would people like to see John fight next? Is he in need of a long comeback with a couple of easy fights or could he be thrown straight in against a decent guy. He took so much damage in the Rios fight it was unreal.

Wouldn't mind seeing Murray v Ben Murphy for his comeback tbh. That'd be a fun fight to headline a Friday on allegedly.

Yeah an easyish opponent and then hopefully the winner of Rees-Derry around November would be fantastic. I think a fight with Rees would be FOTY stuff. Hope he had a good rest and enjoyed himself a bit after Rios and comes back refreshed and well, he certainly earned his money in that scrap. Is he sticking with Joe Gallagher?

He tweeted the following in response to my question over his return:
@JohnMurray84: @snoopjohnd yeah mate had a good rest ready to get back at it now tho. Looking at sept time

Would love to see him Vs the winner of Rees/Mathews for the Euro.
Rees/Murray would be a war imo and Murray/Mathews would also be a top fight - Murray could gain revenge for the camp over Derry after Crolla.
Heres a fight for Murray a bit leftfield, what about Martin Gethin? Both have similar styles and a fight was mooted between the two a few years back when Murray was British champ n Gethin had just beat Fewkes for the English.
Gethin has had troubles with injuries but has had a few wins over foreign opposition since coming back last year and a very good win over Scotland's underrated Stuart Green in a few rounds a few weeks ago.

John Murray needs a couple of easy fights to get his confidence back, I hope he has took time out to work on his defense, if he has done both, well, then and only then should he go for a big fight, otherwise another shattering defeat could ends his career.antcull wrote:Anyone got any updates on what Murray is up to?? Saf its not very often i agree with you,but i do on this one,Murray needs a couple of confidence building fights before even boxing anyone of the calibre of opponents that have been mentioned on this thread...safeerah wrote:John Murray needs a couple of easy fights to get his confidence back, I hope he has took time out to work on his defense, if he has done both, well, then and only then should he go for a big fight, otherwise another shattering defeat could ends his career.antcull wrote:Anyone got any updates on what Murray is up to??
