Sakio Bika

Post by amwsnw »

Good to see Sakio finally getting a fight, and a pretty competetive one at thatand on a major US card.
I have seen his opponent a couple of times and if Sakio wants to remain, or get back into, the top echelon at Sup Middle he needs a comprehensive victory against this guy.
With any luck we get this fight on the mainevent telecast.

Bika outlanded Davis 192-49; Davis landed only 21 power shots.

Bika was up 90-81, 89-82, and a much too close 87-84.

The commentators were impressed and expect big fights for him; hopefully those occur.

Watching the card myself at the moment, i thought $29 bucks is a bargain for this card.

Bika has always been there, Mendy would have been stopped either in that round or the next before Bika's head exploded. only the best beat him.

Just heard that Ward claims Bika as his toughest fight, he said he learn't more from that fight than any other.

Former Bika beater Mads Larsen made an unhappy comeback overnight, being stopped in 4 rounds by British light heavy Luke Blackledge in Blackledge's 10th fight.
Blackledge was a late substitute.

Bika has never fought Larsen. I think you have him mixed up with Nader. Nader lost on points to Larsen.

Sorry, you are right. Bika drew with Beyer and lost to Calzaghe.

Good win last night anyway. Should move Sakio up the ratings.

I would like another step up fight, then maybe a shot at Steiglitz, and hopefully build a run from there.

i think he would beat stiglitz now but bika can be his own worst enemy with his fouling

I am a big fan of Bika and I hope he gets another title shot, but I don't think that win means he deserves one... He has ha d more than a few title shots so imo there are others out there who would deserve a chance before him.

I personally would like to see Bika v Pavlik

It would be a major contrast in complexions if nothing else.

Maybe he should go down to light middle and "shock the world"

I think Bika beats Steigy by stoppage, which is why i want the fight, he's never won a title, yet people like Sartison, Steigy and co all will have the distinction of finishing there career with a world title BELT, Sakio imo belts these boys three shades whiter.

I'd be happy with Pavlik as a fight as well, just don't throw him in with Ward or Froch just yet, give him the same time to have those few tough fights under his belt first of all.

I heard that Calzaghe and now even Ward have claimed that Sakio had/has given them the fight of there career, thats a great honor for Sakio, but he was way too Green for Joe, and Ward takes the fight that no one wanted after nearly 2 years inactivity from Sakio....the Mendy fight lasted 78 seconds, so let's not go there.

just saying the guy needs to give himself a break and an opportunity to have a crack at a few pretend champs, gather some momentum then make a run for the top(pretty big ask, but i live by the fact that momentum is key in any successful career).

Bika is a big super middleweight and over 6' . He is not dropping to super welter.
