So its all the Promotor's and Manager's fault is it ?
Ever thought about throwing the fighters in there ?
How many fights per annum do you think are proposed to fighters and turned down ?
Let's get a balance here.
EVERYONE in this sport has some apportionment of blame - Managers Fighters Trainers Promotors Lawyers ! Sponsors and Media to name a few.
Eddie Hearn has got the most number of TV dates available at the premium rate.
Easy to keep Fighters happy when you're in this privelaged position.

I just thought a £100 a round sounded excessive,i dont know what sparring partners get paid, perhaps some of the pros could tell us... id have thought for someone sparring the Walshes who are only up&coming boxers would prob get £50-£100 for 4-8 rounds??
PS i wont have you round as a painter either £40 a room i paid&he did all the prep work :OhYes:

I wonder if he knew he be leaving and did not want a potential loss to put others off.

Reid is fighting Mendy for vacant english super middleweight in early july apparently. If Fieldings contract expired in April why did he only leave last week? Can someone clear that up.

Think you missunderstood my original post

Walsh brothers paid my mate £100 per day to spar them

a boxer who posts on here paid another one of my mates £100 per round

you was surprised to think walsh brothers would pay £100 per round

would be even more surprised then if you knew who it was as it even surprised me

on that sort of money i may as well not box anymore

could earn a lot more as a pro sparring partner :o

Its the power of capital clover i guess

with the original question

its hard to put on enough small shows to keep everyone happy

people arent earning , it loses money in the main to put on a show

people tell new promotors not to bother and to do unlicensed

that way they make more money

now to me that is sad and shouldnt be the case

how can unlicensed promotors earn better than pros :-?

STEVE WOOD wrote:More boxers and less dates means it is going to get even harder . The boxers and trainers are going to have to let the good fighters fight each other and for fair money to as there is less of that about as well .

If every one is not reasonable over the next 12-24 months then a lot will not be fighting , not always the managers or promoters fault .
I agree with this... They should fight each other... there should be more control taking by promoters in terms of the yearly schedule of fighters...

Are Eddie Hearn and matchroom really the only people with any innovation or creativity involved in the sport? I doubt it very much? I've got tons of brilliant idea's and having had francis warren nick one the other day with no thanks or mention i'm not about to share them on here but promoters need to realise that BOB MONKHOUSE 3-0 (0 ko's) Vs TBA 3-89-3 (0KO's) isn't entertainment... its boring as shit....

Ideas have been shared over and over again on here. Its time to start taking notice IMO. This forum and others like it are a great window to what people want to see and it makes me laugh that all Spencer Fearon has had to do is make competitive matches to suddenly get all this kudos and attention. Thats what promoters should be doing anyway.

Record building needs to become a thing of the past, ultimately its pointless.

What idea has been nicked of yours Jeff?? I dont agree that Fearons matches are even,i think on paper his shows are shite&maybe top of the bill is 70/30...he talks a good show&has many nut huggers, but in all honesty his show are more onesided than most promoters....but he gets the plaudits!!!

smoggy7188 wrote:Cox has been having problems with his hands and thats why he is out.
Both the Dickinson brothers have had injury problems- also Travis had fight against Ajisafe which fell through for English title.
One of the Walsh brothers ( I think the youngest) broke his hand or arm
Martin Murray had a world title shot but criminal past scuppered that which aint promoters fault.
Foster Jnr is fighting Buckland next.
Kevin Mitchell has had criminal problems which stopped him from getting shot at rios.
Groves had 3injuries (1 depending on who u believe)

Agree with Fielding, Vassell, Munroe (no idea why he left Maloney), Hall, Towers (although i think they are taking it easy cos of his time inside) Walsh brothers (not getting fights isnt their fault).

I think Lindsay wanted a rest.

Totally agree with your comments about Joe Murray, his career is just random to be honest.

Good and interesting post though.
You are right Smoggy, but with Vassell Bob Shannon told me that he had Family problems, so was not in the right frame of mind to fight.
