Haha, some negative fucks on here. Its kinda hard to knock someone out when they tuck their chin and keep their gloves high for the entire match. He came to survive and he succeeded. 4 rounds for fornicate sake. 2 more rounds and he would have been gone. Did you see the body shots he landed? He can obviously punch. Khan is a boxer/puncher, not a pure puncher like Julian Jackson or George Foreman who can just blow your guard away and bludgen you to death. Khan has to have openings, and when he does he's gonna fire lightning shots threw straight onto the chin. If Carey started out normal and came to fight he gets knocked out in two, or even one.

Wait till he gets stronger in a few years. Also Carey was an army veteran and 34 years old. You saw his reaction on the way in, he wasn't going no where fast.

Thought Khan looked quite good and Baz Carey is quite strong for a second pro fight of a (albeit very talented) 18 year old.

I thought Khan looked decent enough, still has a lot to learn though, but is a top prospect in my opinion (not in the Hamed league)

On saying that I can't help but feel he is going to get bowled over pretty early in his career - He does get tagged easily enough, and even someone like Carey who threw a miniscule amount of punches was able to land with most of what he threw.

Oh and Jim Roshenthal is terrible.

Young Hamed never had to fight under the kind of pressure Khan is always under. Some people just can't wait to shoot people down. They look only at the negatives.

The only fault I do see with Khan is his defence while on the attack. When he hurts someone he really goes for it and gets quite reckless. He needs to pick his shots, he needs that message hammered into him. He done it more in the last two round last night, he settled a bit. But then its his youth and inexperience that causes him to be so reckless so he should improve with time. Im not sure about his trainer also. Harrison isn't that well known, you wonder how much respect Khan has for him and if Harrison really knows what he is talking about.

to me khan put in a reasonbly good display last night, athough alot of credit must go to baz carey he proved myself and many others wrong(i thought khan would win in a round or two) by sticking in there while taking some heavy stick when he could of just retired on his stool after the first. i reckon khan will go along way in the pro game, be interesting following his career.

The only thing I didn't like about Khan was those great long daft shorts. They looked stupid. Image does count for something in boxing and he looked like a right plonker.

As for the fight, Carey wasn't there to win he was there to not get knocked out. Khan did all he could do, and will look like the banger that I believe he is, in the future.

I think Khan will look better when someone opens up and fires back as he will have the ability to counter punch them, Carey shut up shop and made Amir come to him and maybe that isn't Khan's game. So what he didn't hurt Carey sufficiently, the guy was in ultra defensive mode and didn't want to get hit but when guys do that they don't offer much back which means Khan is in full control.

I don`t see it as a case of people writing him off after two fights, more of a case of people stupidly over hyping him to be a world champion after two fights that is more the problem.

Expectations for the kid is way too high, anything less than a genuine world title will be seen as a failure, when in all fairness a challenge for the British title would make most boxers proud.

Thought this was a good fight for Khan, and he will have learned that in the pros his power isn't all that, certainly not yet anyway. He is blessed with great natural speed and his movement was pretty impressive, but I think he is going to have to work hard on his offensive skills when on the attack.

Khan impressed me. He is never going to be the biggest puncher in the world but he wasn't exactly planting his feet and letting them go. He was on his toes dancing in and out. His variety of punches impressed me more than anything, he throws some excellent combinations. A little more bodywork would have been good with Carey tucked up most of the time.

Not bad at all for a second pro fight.

I was very impressed with Khan. He threw almost every punch in the book against a tough so and so, who quickly had to reassess his tactics of constant pressure when he realised Amir meant business.

I thought Khan was so dominant and outpunched Carey so frequently that the score should have been 40-35 despite no knockdowns....at least.

Yep, very impressed with Khan but I'd like to see Warren matching Khan with boxers closer to Khan's weight in the near future. Both Bailey and Carey were naturally smaller despite the official weights.

For those who think Khan can't punch, the body shots he was throwing will account for some stoppages soon enough.

WHO's writing him off!!!!!!

This my opinion and its opinions that make forums the interesting place they are.
Khan is a good fighter but i'm giving my view on all the hype that is being said about him.
If everyone said that the sun shines out of his ar..e then what kind of thread would this be.
I think the light welterweight division has some outstanding talents coming through

Just watched my tape of the fight, it was broadcast live on ScreenSport.

It was televised on ITV late at night, I cant remember the name of the show but they used to show boxing from the weekend midweek. Tuesday nights perhaps? Someone else might have a better memory. A lot of Hamed's early fights were on terrestrial.
