According to that report it is, I think Brute's trying to get a seat on the IBF's commitee table in between Stevie wonder and David Blunkett.
Twice Lennox Lewis defended his title against fighters who were not supposed to have a chance and got KOed. There is always a chance.

I'll bet its non title

Of coarse there's a chance he beats Dib, however slim. I'm just trying to say surely the promoters could of got a more worthy challenger, say maybe somebody in the top 80 of the world.

Be serious. This kid has won a lot more fights than he has lost and won most of them by KO. An American loses a fight and Boxrec drops him one place. A third world fighter loses a fight and is dropped 50 places. Check what has happened lately and see if I am wrong.

It's like talking to a brick wall. O.k I concede this guy (who's name I've already forgotten mid thread) is a worthy challenger for a world title.

Did you watch the Dib-Alberto Servidei fight? That should of shown you that records mean nothing. I just hope this latest challenger is better than him although it wouldn't surprise me to see it end in a round. But your right shocks do happen in sport, just look at Scotland-Australia at rugby last night

Its a non-title fight at Super Featherweight, I was told wrong when I first published the story.

Where did the story come from? Rodriguez is a super feather with a 21-3 (19KO) record.

http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8479487

good read, and some goals there for Dib, would of liked to see him try and unify though.

Brunker needs to beat better opposition than that to get a shot, the public don't want it, Dib's beaten a couple of good names, Brunkers best was against Belandres. just saying, fights are always more appealing if the fighter earns the shot.

Good to see Green back.

Looks like the rumours coming from the west earlier in the year had some substance..
Not a bad fight for Billy. Keeping busy, doesnt have to bust a gut to get down to his optimum weight whilst waiting to sort out a challenger. I am sure he wont, but i hope he doesnt take this fella lightly. Go luck Billy.
Hopefully be on Friday night fights with a stacked undercard.

Brute, you are excited about this fight?
About as excited as I was about Henry Cooper constantly ducking George Chuvalo when George was the only real contender for Henry's Empire title. Why?

Just wondered.

You seem really bitter about most boxers but yet seem to have a soft spot for The Dibster as you call him.

Who am I bitter about? I criticize Anthony Mundine for his attitude and avoiding of good matches but I am hardly Robinson Crusoe there. Dib is a World Champion with only one loss on his record but many seem to be looking for reasons to run him down, possibly because of his religion.

Unlike Mundine Dib was born into the faith and did not take up the religion in a fantasy of being a reincarnation-before-death of Muhammad Ali. For the record, I am not religious.

Two pommy morons in one thread, one who moved to a country with a worse climate and economy than the one he left, one with a wish to be Italian.

New Zealand's economy is good, I manage to have 3 months off a year and travel on the kiwi dollar. The climate's about right as well not stinking hot but still even now in winter it's 18-19 during the day here in Auckland. It's getting a bit chilly at night and 1st thing but it's winter. My mate informs me the weather's pretty sh1t in Sydney at the mo, I guess I'll find out on sunday. It wasn't anything to write home about in Nov. and Dec last year.

Mate just post one thing about boxing instead of putting shit on people all the time, and you might hold some substance here!

Brute keeps things going around here mate, it might not always be every ones cup of tea, but he offers something, how about you?

Sorry for butting in Brute, i personally don't like people butting into my little debates, but this guy is the biggest shit stirrer in ages on these boards, and loves jumping into everyone elses business.....Yid 14 is his only supporter and they work in tandem trying to gang up on people, they're both weak as piss, and clearly are the type of guys to wait for a bloke to hit the ground before throwing a punch......one word mate,"gutless', just ignore.

I suppose that is why so many Kiwis have moved to the G20 country across the Tasman. As for climate we have occasional bad spells but none of our cities have sunk into the ground after an earthquake lately.

And there was me thinking that you Houndawg was the only person keeping this board going  Gutless? Coming from a keyboard warrior. Do you troll on ESB as well?
Anyway back to subject, Dibb shouldn't be fighting the people he's fighting in title fights or non title.
It's conning the aussie public into believing he is a legit title defending take on all comers kind of boxer. Surely Chris John with his statour in this part of the world is a makeable fight. Even someone like Daniel Ponce De Leon? Been in hard fights maybe a little past his prime but wouldn't come here to fall over and see the aussie nightlife like most of Dibb's recent opponents seem to be quite happy in doing. But hey what do I know just a pommie living in N.Z who loves boxing but ends up arguing with a couple of aussie d1ckheads everytime I dare to post on the board they've saved

For some reason this is the only thing that you've ever said that really is apt.

Please don't come with the whole story, another poor Brit who comes to the aussie forum and cops shit for having an opinion bull shit.

You came here thinking you would tell people what's what and that would be that, you've attacked nearly every member here that didn't join around the time you joined, and you're the most shit stirring little prick i've managed to come across in my 5 years here. You antoginize things with national debates that you shouldn't even be involved in....you're not a kiwi mate, so don't fight there fight.

You in short, just make no sense at all. So no one's picking on you cause you're British, it's simply because you're a fuckwit!

Love the thread, Billy has earn't his right to be called world class, Escobedo is still ranked by the IBF and other Org's, great win for Dib that anyone should appreciate.

Might i add, that it was a great fight and victory.

Dawg, I don't need a partner to match wits with something like you.

Anyway, you don't have 'debates' do you? If anyone disagrees with you, you go spastic, then start whining and then threaten to leave. It's a great laugh.
