ive never met him personally but im lead to beleive hes a nice guy ....
as for his media persona it really isint my cup of tea ,he always seems to overdo it tbh ... i didnt enjoy his commentry

Spencer is a gentleman, a real cool guy who knows how to interact with boxing fans. I have been to a couple of his shows now and they have been very entertaining and atmospheric shows.
The likes of Spencer and Dave Coldwell are the new breed of promoters coming through and they deserve a few breaks, Spencer's last show with the headliner of Hainey-Qato would have went down a treat on Sky and I hear that last night's fight on Coldwell's show between Woodhouse-Miles was a barnstormer too.

Being a great guy and a good promoter and a mover and shaker doesn't mean that Spencer can be an excellent commentator without working on what he does in front of the mike. That's not to disrepect the man, who I've never met; just an observation. I can imagine that he is a good role model and a very genuine fellow; best of luck to him.
