...which quite frankly has just fucked my brains.

Whilst I was waiting for the curry to arrive, I pondered, as you do, what John McDermott is doing at the moment. All quiet on that front, I thought, so I'll find out in order to quench my ravimous ? ravonous? hungry appetite for information on this subject.

SO, tracked down this from allegedly's site:

problem 1: "There's not much chance of a rematch [between McDermott and Krence] either - Krence doesn't hold the [English] title any more after he lost in the last round to Scott Gammer in his last fight"

Is that true? Do you lose an English title if you lose a British title? Has to be that, because otherwise Fwank you're going alledgedly fornicating loopy because Gammer is Welsh.

Not a problem but interesting ditty (is that a word? I'm sure it is I think I heard Leonard Rossiter say it once) 2

"And [McDermott] received a boost recently when he was told to box former British champion Michael Sprott in an eliminator for the British title held by Matt Skelton.

First Sprott must fight in a European title contest in Germany – but McDermott will be ready and waiting for him on his return"

Now this biography thing was updated in July on FW.TV, so it takes into account Sprott/Vidoz. In which case, how the hell has McDermott cropped up with a British eliminator against Sprott. Because a) Should Sprott win the EBU, then surely he'd only fight for the British title if that comes along with Skelton, if he is an EBU mandatory or whatever. He wouldn't, as EBU holder, go through an eliminator with McDermott just in order to get the British title. b) If Sprott loses to Vidoz, then fair enough maybe a British eliminator would be something to consider. The only problem being - Gammer. Has he just won a British eliminator for no other reason than he was bored watching Richard and Judy or what. And with all respect, if those three were involved in an elimintator (Sprott, Mc and Gammer, not Gammer, Richard and Judy) I would say it should be Gammer-v-McDermott. Winner of that fights Sprott. Winner of that then fights Skelton, who by which time will be 62

Anyway, sorry, that's a total rambling hunk of rubbish I've just written

1). I haven't read anything to suggest Krence was stripped. He was certainly English champion before the Skelton fight - unless ITV were continually lying.

2). Sprott - not sure (Freihart will be the man to help here). I know he was once announced to fight in a semi final eliminator vs McDermott, but that was before his fight with Koc. I know Nicky Cook won the British title after the European one, so I cannot see why Sprott would be ineligable to fight for an eliminator (if he can fight for the belt after, then why not an eliminator). Of course, I'm sure Sprott would say no thankyou to that opportunity if he beats Vidoz.

All together though, I am not sure about any of the points. People on here much better at this sort of stuff than me.

Anyway, Carl Baker managed to overturn a TKO4 against Luke Simpson in their previous meeting to snatch a very close-looking points victory over 10 rounds in the Brit Masters Heavy title tonight

Baker is a huge thing, it was an interesting article about him in Boxing News he seems like a gentle giant. Don't think he is going very far though although that is now 2/3 losses avenged.

Yeah, just the Gammer defeat to avenge now

He did only lose that one by 1 round, albeit it was only a 4 rounder

A circular from the BBBC (15th Sept) proposes a final eliminator for the British title between McDermott and Gammer, although it is "dependent on John McDermott supplying a medical certificate of fitness."

Not sure how McDermott gets this to be honest. I know Krence has had his turn know, but that was at short notice. I'd prefer a McDermott-Krence rematch if it could be made, maybe the winner to fight the winner of Llewelyn-Steeds if that happens, then the winner of that to fight Gammer. Gammer himself said he was in no rush to get a British title shot
