Re: best boxing venue
I recommend York Hall. It is a small venue but the atmosphere is electric and every seat is a good seat. Some great names have fought there.
I also recommend the Echo Arena in Liverpool. The Scouse fans are awesome and the atmosphere is always great. The fans have good banter and there is rarely any trouble. Furthermore, the tiered seats have a great view, which is quite rare at an arena.

York Hall is a shithole...but still great for a show.
I like a venue that is very rarely used - Sheffield City Hall.
Hartlepool Borough Hall is great too - bit like York Hall for the north.

Re: best boxing venue
thanks for the help everyone i would like a big bellew fight at the echo are maybe martin murray at the MEN both fighter are local to me and will have my support
Re: best boxing venue
All depends on the fight etc aswell, I've been at big shows, small shows etc.
The MEN, Millennium Stadium, City of Manchester Stadium (as it was known at the time), Braehead are the bigger of the UK venues I've attended. Ive also been lucky enough to go to the MGM once BUT the night that Burns beat Martinez in the Kelvin Hall was probably the best atmosphere I've ever experienced. It was electric!
I still really want to experience a fight in the York Hall, hopefully get there at some point.
If you want to experience a good atmosphere then you should consider carefully which fights you pick opposed to which venue!

I love the York Hall, the history of the place has an appeal, the location and the balcony hanging over the ring.
For a bigger venue I was really impressed with the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, great atmosphere and very well designed arena, the higher stands seem close enough to the action, whereas the same seats at the likes of the MEN in Manchester do not seem as good i.e. further away - that's my impression anyway....

Re: best boxing venue
When I was a kid my dad took me to see Nigel Benn and Barry Mcguigan (not against eachother :P ) at the Ally Pally in Muswell Hill. the atmosphere was amazing, I was smiling for a month.
Re: best boxing venue

Re: best boxing venue
dont think venue matters.it has no revelance on the fight.
york hall there aint a bad seat in the house & its good for punters as its upclose with everyone on top of the ring. but for the fighters it can be hot especially in the summer its like a green house withshit warming up facilities.

The York Hall aint all its cracked up to be to be honest.
Personally, three venues I enjoyed were.
1. Colne Muni
2. Winter Gardens, Blackpool
3. Ulster Hall, Belfast
4. Liverpool Olympia
for big fights the best in the MEN when its packed.
