Kel Brook
Kel Brook
Surely, should kel dispose of carson, and i think he will do it in stoppage style, then i think Kel will be in line for a tilt at Randall Bailey.
Bailey can sure bang, buit he is questionable in the whiskers department, the top men have 'put him away'
can kel do it?

The top men have put him away as you rightly say but is Brook " A top man?"rhino222 wrote:Surely, should kel dispose of carson, and i think he will do it in stoppage style, then i think Kel will be in line for a tilt at Randall Bailey.

Re: Kel Brook
I think Kel Brook could be really good, but I'm not convinced yet. The fight against Carson Jones is going to be a good test. Even if Brook wins, though, I'm not so sure it would be good matchmaking to put him in the ring with Randall Bailey. That guy punches incredibly hard for his weight.
Re: Kel Brook
he can go all the way to the top!!
Re: Kel Brook
To be fair jones was hammering bailey until the stoppage, i say hammering winning the rounds with the jab form distance. Surely Kell doesnt have to win by big KO, just outbox the old fella. Win boring.
Re: Kel Brook
Kell will fight Bailey after Jones
Re: Kel Brook
Im guessing randall will be fighting whoever offers randall the most money

Re: Kel Brook
futures bright for Kell brook. The welter division is in decline imo.
I'd pick him over Bradley, Berto, Ortiz, Mike jones, Malignaggi, Randall Bailey... its there for the taking for Brook.

Re: Kel Brook
Don't know about Bradley,
Agree on the rest.
Agree on the rest.
Re: Kel Brook
He's been nowhere near the class of opponents of ortiz or berto either - not saying he wouldnt beat them, just that he hasnt even fought outside european level yet.
Re: Kel Brook
I agree that, Mayweather and Pacquiao aside, the welterweight division is much weaker than it was several years ago, but Bradley, Berto and Ortiz are very, very good. I don't yet know why quite a few people on here have so much confidence in Brook. He hasn't had a proper test yet. Carson Jones is decent, but even still not a proper test for the top level.desperados wrote:futures bright for Kell brook. The welter division is in decline imo.

Re: Kel Brook
Spot on - all very wel picking out world level fighters faults when fighting against world level fighters. And easy to look good when fighting british level fighters... All about levels as so many brits have found out over the years.
Although I must say kell looks very very good when he goes about doing what he does.

Berto and Ortiz are both overated.
Berto is out the picture for the foreseeable anyway failing a test.
Ortiz wasn't particularly impressive at 140 imo, only a knockdown saved him a draw against Lamont Peterson & he quit like a baby against Maidana
Seeing how Kell Brook smashed up Hatton worse than Canelo Alvarez did gives me reason to believe he is one of the biggest and heaviest handed fighters at 147 now. Not only that but he is sound in defence, picks his shots very well. Infact i think there are some similarites to draw between Brook & Alvarez.
I thought Brook & Mike Jones were brewing up nicely as the up and coming kings of 147, but seing Randall Bailley put Jones lights off it really puts a question mark over him.
Also seeing Bradley smack talk about being an unbreakable wall against Pacquiao, but then resort to staying on the outside (which just isnt his style at all) because he couldnt handle the power, i think same thing happens with Brook. Although a more tactical battle, i think if the 2 men swapped leather in the center of the ring, the much bigger (and likely heavier on the night) Brook is going to make Bradley retreat imo.

Re: Kel Brook
I think team Brook will have been pleasantly surprised by that result.
Everyone expected Jones to come through and technically would have been the more difficult opponent for Kell.
However no one should look beyond the next opponent at this stage but I'm expecting a serious statement to the rest in the Carson fight.
Kell has always raised his game to the level of his opposition - and there is so much more to come.
I do however think its not right to compare him to Alvarez right now.
Even Kell and his team I think would agree he's not quite ready for him - but down the line who knows ?
The routes are opening up - and in six months time or so I expect Brook to be our next World Champion.

it was more a stylistic comparison rather than i think he's better and gunning for Saul. I think they both box with excellent maturity, pick punches very well, and are both pretty heavy handed for their respective divisions.
Re: Kel Brook
Imo Kell does not punch hard enough to worry Bailey and would get caught with an unfortunate one late on.rhino222 wrote:Surely, should kel dispose of carson, and i think he will do it in stoppage style, then i think Kel will be in line for a tilt at Randall Bailey.

Re: Kel Brook
Spiker,
You should not under estimate Ezekiel's power.
You might not have seen it openly fight night but trust me there's a lot of power in the locker.
Kell will rise to the opposition.

Re: Kel Brook
why is someone saying kel should avoid bailey.....its the opportunity kel has craved for, bailey is an old timer, yes he can bang but he can also be banged out, i expect kel to box clever and win by shut out as bailey throws haymakers from the back of the hall.

Re: Kel Brook
I think Bailey will fight whoever makes the biggest offer. He's 37-38 and knows he can be outworked at his age so will want to cash out with a big wedge of cash.
If Brook does get the opportunity, DO NOT say you want 8oz gloves to prove your manliness like Jones did. 10oz goves have to be the option. Whether the 2oz would have made the difference is anyone's guess with the shots he took, but there's no point giving a monster puncher any advantages.

Re: Kel Brook
The winner of Brook-Jones has to fight Hector Saldiva, who was stopped in one round by Said Ouali.
The winner of that bout will fight for the IBF title; if Bailey's still the champion, I think Brook will dethrone him.
