Flanagan v.s Jones
Flanagan v.s Jones
Anybody watch this last night? Cracking little 8 rounder, Tyrone Jones is a throwback fighter but Flanagan deserved the win.
I'd like to see Mark Flanagan in with Caperello, I reckon Caperello wins but would be a good fight to watch.

Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
Vlamis knocked Flanagan out last year. What makes you think he would do any better against Caparello?
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
He looked classy last night. Who would you like to see Blake Caperello fight then?
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
He has a fight coming up with Dante Craig on July 13 and an unknown opponent on 31 August.
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
Yeah I see that. I really don't understand bringing used up journeyman over with a ton of losses when there's better fights to make between other aussies and even kiwis.
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
I think Caparello would take on more Aussies/New Zealanders, but this issue is, no one will fight him.
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
I doubt very much Flanagan would turn him down, after just winning and defending his state title. I reckon Berridge would be keen for a re-match as well.A14 wrote:I think Caparello would take on more Aussies/New Zealanders, but this issue is, no one will fight him.
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
Kariuki is the second ranked Australian light heavy and he had his hands full with Bourke last night.

Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
He is from Kenya but now holds dual citizenship of Australia and the USA. As an immigrant in the country you live in what is your problem with him?
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
He was a kiwi for a while as well. I wonder if he's ever been on holiday to England?Brute wrote:He is from Kenya but now holds dual citizenship of Australia and the USA.
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
He had three fights in New Zealand in 2004 and two in China, that does not make him New Zealander or Chinese.
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
Doubt both, hence the reason he's moved over the years = AU > NZ > AU > US > AU. I'm reasonably aware how he managed to stay in Oz after 2000 Sydney Olympics, as did a few others, which were named African Kings & made their debut in Adelaide on December 1, 2000 http://boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=89923Brute wrote:He is from Kenya but now holds dual citizenship of Australia and the USA. Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
The ring announcer announced him as having dual citizenship.
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
Ring annoncers spit out whatever they're told. I doubt anyone would know much about him as much as I do 'cos at the time (2000) I was ANBF SA Branch committee memberBrute wrote:The ring announcer announced him as having dual citizenship.
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
A lot can happen in twelve years.
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
Yeah...providing sport visa (Indefinite) meets all requirements - contract, guaranteed income etc etc. If & when that fails....shite hits the fan. As it did with Enedehge, Kanuthia & Adam, who were evenraully rounded-up & sent home.Brute wrote:A lot can happen in twelve years.
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
I think that was why Kariuki was advised to go offshore for a while.
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
I was talking about "Boxrec" ratings. I don't follow ANBF.Da Voice wrote:??? ANBF rating as of June 5Brute wrote:Kariuki is the second ranked Australian light heavy and he had his hands full with Bourke last night.

Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
caparello's camp get journeymen from wherever,as long as they will fight in vic, there are fights in oz,but cap wont fight them less they go to vic
Re: Flanagan v.s Jones
ANBF ratings tend to have holes, usually from boxers who do not want to be rated locally. Meehan was a case in point. Caparello is not the first fighter to stick to his home base for a long time, Johnny Famechon had 23 fights before he fought anywhere but Festival Hall!
Back to the original question, do you really think Flanagan would be any match for Caparello? That was the yid kid's question.
